JOHN SHERIDAN appears LEFT
Babylon Five is the fifth of the Babylon
Stations, built by Earth to promote peace and
understanding among the galactic races. A
place of commerce, diplomacy, and cultural
interaction, it serves as humankind's last,
best hope for peace. The Babylon stations were
built in the aftermath of the Earth-Minbari
War, so that never again would Earth go to war
and suffer destruction for failure to understand
its galactic neighbors. A simple misunderstanding
and fear nearly led to Earth's annihilation in
that war. The first four Babylon stations were
destroyed or lost, reminding us all that it is
a dangerous universe out there.
DISSOLVE to DELENN, RIGHT
The Minbari surrendered during their final
assault on Earth - in a battle Minbari were sure
to win due to our superior technology. But we
Minbari discovered that humans and Minbari
share DNA - that somehow our two peoples are
connected, a secret still known only to a very
few. It was the Vorlons who made us see that we
would need to work with the humans to fight a
great evil which had returned to the galaxy and
threatened us all - the Shadows.
DISSOLVE to LONDO, LEFT
Earth had made contact with one other alien
race prior to their disastrous initial
encounter with the Minbari. Earth had dev-
eloped trade and diplomatic relations with
the Centauri, we being a prideful people known
for our rituals of status and love of material
things. The Centauri obsession with power led
to the near-total destruction of the Narn home-
world during the Shadow War. Centauri and the
Narn had fought for centuries and the long-
simmering hatred between the two peoples had
taken on a life of its own and opened the way
for the Shadows to play on Centauri prejudices
and make us do terrible things. The Drakh, the
key ally of the Shadows, now wage their own
silent war of aggression since the Shadows and
Vorlons have left the galaxy. We Centauri paid
a heavy price for our greed and arrogance.
DISSOLVE to G'KAR,RIGHT
The Shadow War engulfed all the known galactic
races, all used as pawns by either the forces
of light, the Vorlons, who sought to create
cooperation and peace among different cultures,
and the forces of darkness, the Shadows, who
sought to compel conflict and war so that the
strong might utterly destroy the weak. It was
the humans - especially Sheridan - who turned
the tide and saved us all. Now the Drakh sow
the seeds of chaos, and what to do about the
telepaths has become the question of the moment.
DISSOLVE to LYTA, LEFT
Telepaths were created by the Vorlons and the
Shadows, for use as weapons in the final Shadow
War. Many normals, or "mundanes" as telepaths
sometimes call non-telepaths, fear telepaths
and persecute them. Although the Shadows and
Vorlons have left our galaxy, some of their
weapons - including telepaths - remain. A few
telepaths were given special powers by the
Vorlons. To be free from persecution, to be
able to live among our own without fear of
being used or harmed, many telepaths now seek
a homeworld of our own.
DISSOLVE to SHERIDAN, RIGHT
The year is 2266 and the Drakh, the Shadows'
key ally, have launched a terror campaign
against all those who fought their masters,
the Shadows. The Drakh manipulate governments
behind-the-scenes, compromising leaders, even
whole worlds, ruling through intimidation and
fear. The Drakh destroyed several worlds with
a Shadow planet-killer, but that terrible
weapon was destroyed at Earth. In an act of
revenge, the Drakh poisoned the Earth's atmos-
phere with a bio-engineered smart virus, which
will destroy all life on Earth within a five
year time-span if a cure is not found. We have
less than a year. The Drakh are ready to strike
again - seeking to land a death-blow against
the Alliance. The Alliance is, in turn, has
launched a major expeditionary force to find
the Drakh base so we can fight back.

TITLE SEQUENCE / MUSICAL THEME
INT. DRAKH TORTURE CHAMBER
In a dank, fairly large cell/torture chamber LYTA ALEXANDER stands suspended, her body an X as her bound wrists and ankles hold her upright. Her restraints are metallic, electronic, thick and for-midable. Unconscious, her face haggard and dirty from sweat and grime, she seems utterly oblivious to the activity around her. She appears physically weak, her body battered, bloody, and bruised.
CAMERA PULLS BACK to reveal several DRAKH conversing, a couple of which are putting away implements of torture (electroshock devices)
into a large moveable console. Two important Drakh enter the chamber as another Drakh leads about fifteen collared human TELEPATH SLAVES from the chamber. All depart, save for the two important Drakh.

If she does not break after the
next round, kill her.
She is near death already. Her gifts

DRAKH TORTURE LEADER
The Vorlons achieved something we've
not yet seen before, with these human
telepaths. But, if they cannot be
turned to our will, they are of no use
to us. It is not clear why the Vorlons
made such as her, only to have us capture
them and dissect them for study. The mod-
ifications to their bodies is, however,

DRAKH TORTURE LEADER (CONTINUED)
We will decommission the remaining cloning
centers. We have enough telepath drones now
for the main assault. When our masters' final instructions come, we will use the remaining
human telepaths against the Alliance, and when
all of their worlds are subdued, eliminate
After a contemptuous look, the last two Drakh depart the room.
EXTREME CLOSE-UP ON LYTA as she opens first one eye, than another, her face determined and furiously angry.
NEW ANGLE as Lyta flexes her body, now fully visible in its X position as her telepathic abilities shred the manacles holding her - sparks flying all about along with bits of metal. Lyta's eyes go white (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as Drakh rush in from the noise and she telepathically dispatches them en masse as the room begins to shake from her concentration.
ON LYTA / CLOSE as she looks skyward. CROSSCUT
EXT. SPACE / DRAKH PLANETARY BASE OF OPERATIONS
Emerging as if from a sheet of sheer blackness, a sleek black
vessel descends, screaming from orbit through a hint of greenish atmosphere (CGI).
INT. DRAKH TORTURE CHAMBER
LYTA walks TOWARD CAMERA, now surrounded by a thin veneer of white light all about her body as she forthrightly exits the chamber, the wall crumbling before her. Drakh and collared human telepath slaves scramble around her and some fire weapons - with no effect (CGI).
CLOSE ON LYTA as she steps through a large hole she has made in the wall. Her face REACTS with horror as we MOVE IN CLOSE and see her astonishment at what she sees (and we don't).
EXT. DRAKH PLANETARY BASE OF OPERATIONS - ATMOSPHERE/ORBIT
Lyta's sleek black vessel screams from the planet below into orbit, a jump-point forming ahead of the vessel. Three Drakh fighters pursue (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
CLOSE ON LYTA as her now normal eyes flare white for a moment as she cocks her head slightly to one side (CGI).
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The pursuing Drakh vessels veer sharply into each other, exploding, as Lyta's vessel enters a jump-point (a hint of the greenish color of the Vorlon planetary system) and is gone (CGI).
LYTA stares ahead out the viewer, focused, but collecting herself, the red swirl of hyperspace visible in the viewer (CGI).
NEW ANGLE on LYTA, as we MOVE IN EX CLOSE ON LYTA'S EYES,
MOVING IN until one of her pupil's FILLS FRAME.
EXT. EARTH SPACE STATION
Earth FILLS FRAME. Quiet as we PULL BACK, the beautiful blue/green Earth gently rotates, a white circular orbiting space station (also rotating) ENTERS FRAME. Several vessels, some alien, are docked at the station or nearby (CGI).
INT. SPACE STATION / CENTRAL CORRIDOR LOUNGE AREA
Alliance President JOHN SHERIDAN walks forthrightly from the dock-ing bay section, alone, carrying a small attache, past three or four uniformed Psi-Corps agents apprehending a rogue telepath who physically resists them.
NEW ANGLE as Sheridan steps into the main corridor - curved, stark white, brightly lit and lightly populated, with nearly all persons human, save for a single Pak-Mar-Ah and two Centauri.
NEW ANGLE as Sheridan walks past a group of Psi-Corps agents sitting in an open lounge area.
ON PSI-CORPS AGENTS as they silently regard one another with tele-pathic messages (slight nods of the head) as they watch Sheridan walk past.
MOVING, ON SHERIDAN, determined and serious, as he clenches his jaw while passing them.
SHERIDAN POV as he sees GENERAL FRANKLIN, an African-American male of about 65, looking quite serious, waiting to greet him.
President Sheridan. I'm glad you made it.
Yes, It is good to have a break from
Alliance business on Minbar.
Sheridan then looks down to his attache, which General Franklin notes - he carrying a matching attache.
(quietly) Have you brought no security detail?
I'll only be here the time it takes for
the meeting and then will be leaving immed-
iately on a White Star. There do seem to be
an awful lot of Psi-corps agents here.
Yes. EarthGov has become reliant upon
them for an ever larger share of secret
channel communications off-world. The
agents here can link up mentally with
telepaths unable to leave Earth because
of the plague.
Giving them a disproportionate amount
of influence. Psi-Corps wanted more
power, and now they've got it.
Evidently, in groups, telepaths rated
GENERAL FRANKLIN (CONTINUED)
as low as P-5 can do it. That's why there
are so many here. With so much of Earth's
personnel and infrastructure stuck on Earth,
our position has become weakened with respect
to our status in the Alliance and elsewhere.
Psi-Corps has filled the vacuum. It's been -
necessary - to use them.
I noticed the many alien ships stationed at
various points within our solar system.
Some are friend, some are foe. Some,
who knows? The opportunists are ready. If
any transport tries to leave Earth and we
don't shoot it down, they will. They won't
let that virus spread off-world. And if the
virus does its job and all life on our world
is destroyed, they will move in and exploit
our resources. Earth has become completely
isolated and the situation has created a lot
of fear among our people down there.
SHERIDAN POV as he looks out the large observation window.
It looks so peaceful. It's hard to believe
a place so beautiful can be in so much peril.
Our people, made prisoners on our own world.
Prisoners on death row, if a way to cure
that Drakh virus is not found, and soon.
A blue-green forcefield flares briefly (CGI).
EXT. SPACE STATION - ON WINDOW
We see the flare of the forcefield, foreground, while looking at the window, with SHERIDAN and GENERAL FRANKLIN visible inside, with the reflection of Earth in the window (CGI).
INT. SPACE STATION - WINDOW
That protects the station?
From any virus particles, yes - and small
bits of debris. The forcefield is based on

Minbari technology. I imagine your wife, Am-
bassador Delenn, could tell you how it works.
The Drakh will pay one day for having done
this to us.
It is hard to fight an enemy if you don't
know how great is their number, where
exactly they are, or. . . (cryptically)
who their allies are.
SHERIDAN/GENERAL FRANKLIN POV as they discreetly cast their eyes at Psi-Corps types in the central corridor.
(Sighs) The Drakh have been suspiciously
quiet for too long. After their attack on
Earth failed, I thought we'd get a break,
gain the upper hand somehow, learn how to
fight them, how to win. (a beat) General,
how is your son? It's been weeks since the
Alliance on Minbar or Babylon Five has heard
from the good doctor.
My son Stephen is missing.
This is genuine news, SHERIDAN REACTS.
Several weeks ago he disappeared from his
post as director of Zenobiology at EarthDome.
His notes said that he had an important lead
in discovering a cure or way to disable the
Drakh virus. There are some who say he went
Left Earth? He'll be killed as a plague-
carrier if he's found.
Yes, I know. But you and I both know my son
Stephen. He'll do whatever it takes to save
our planet. Come, we should go. The others
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM
Several people, all human, sit in the semi-darkened room. Faces cannot be clearly seen. Sheridan and General Franklin take seats.
Thank you for coming from Minbar, Mr.
TEAM MEMBER 2
The Team Leader has asked me to give
this to you.
TEAM MEMBER 2 places a datacrystal on the table surface in front of Sheridan, who then picks it up an holds it.
Forgive the cloak and dagger, President
Sheridan. To protect each of us from tele-
pathic scans, it's better if we aren't
certain of each others' identities. The
ongoing telepath freedom movement has dim-
inished the pool of non-Psi-Corps telepaths
available to us for protective countermeasures
against their scans. Please play the datacrystal.
Sheridan places the datacrystal into a playback unit. Images show a SHADOW VESSEL emerging from beyond the Rim of the galaxy and firing a communication beam into the galaxy. A VORLON vessel rises up behind the Shadow vessel and fires its weapons, destroying the Shadow vessel which does not protect itself lest it be distracted from its task. The visual goes to static (CGI/COMPOSITE).
That's all we got. A deep-space Drazi recon
ship recorded this three days ago, then was
fired upon and destroyed. Our agents on
assignment to find Drakh influence among the
Drazi recovered this datacrystal from a
Brukuri salvage hauler, who found it among
the wreckage. As you can see, the Shadows are
not entirely finished with our galaxy. We
believe they are communicating with the Drakh,
perhaps even directing their terror campaign.
A few days prior to this image being recorded,
a Psi-Corps survey vessel was spotted in the area.
We don't know.
TEAM MEMBER 3
Although the Shadows and Vorlons agreed to
TEAM MEMBER 3
leave our galaxy at the end of their war,
they clearly still have some kind of agenda.
If you will play the next entry.
Sheridan waves his hand over the datacrystal and another image appears, this one with a schematic of the Milky Way galaxy moving to an enhanced close-up of a smaller galaxy enmeshed within the outer edge of one of its spiral arms with a dark region at its center (CGI/COMPOSITE).
TEAM MEMBER 3 (CONTINUED)
The trajectory of that signal was plotted,
and the coordinates of its destination lie
somewhere in the heart of this micro-galaxy
at the edge of our own Milky Way.
Near Vorlon space.
We believe the risk to Earth and to our
galaxy from the Shadows may not be over. A
theory has emerged that the Shadows may have
intended on losing the war, and held their
real plans and resources in reserve for a
later assault led by their supporters, the Drakh.
Of course. If the Drakh can achieve the same
ends that the Shadows sought, conflict and war,
through different means, it is still a victory
for the Shadows. The stronger races can vanquish
the weaker ones and the opportunists get their
spoils. The Shadows achieve their original
design through the Drakh.
As President of the Alliance, your first duties
are to the member worlds, including Earth. As a
fellow human, we implore you to devote all
available Alliance resources to help Earth find
the Drakh base, and destroy it.
TEAM MEMBER 2
We need you to launch a covert expedition to
find out what's in the sector that signal went
to. If, as we suspect, the Drakh base is there,
the fact that the Shadows are willing to reveal
themselves means the Drakh don't feel threat-
ened and thus have resources - weapons, defenses
- about which we know nothing, and may well be
preparing for their main offensive. (gravely)
TEAM MEMBER 2
There may be a cure to the plague there, and
if so, we need to find it. Time is running out.
If the Drakh make another attack on Earth,
we cannot survive it.
As President of the Alliance, let me assure
you that finding and destroying the Drakh base
of operations is our highest priority. As a
human being, I make my personal pledge to have
our revenge for what the Drakh have done to our
world. The Alliance will devote whatever re-
sources it takes to destroy the Drakh threat,
and find a cure for the Drakh plague.
TEAM MEMBER 2
There is a special emphasis on secrecy due to
the fact that certain elements within the Psi-
Corps are no longer accountable to EarthGov
directives, if indeed they ever were. They may
be children of Earth, but they may betray Earth.
We have long known that the Psi-Corps is a
beast that won't remain caged forever. Psi-
Corps's desire to rule Earth may have made
them vulnerable to Drakh influence, just as
certain of them fell under the spell of the
Shadows during the Shadow War. And perhaps
that is all that should be said here.
In the semi-darkness those assembled get up and leave, one-by-one.
General Franklin touches Sheridan's forearm to telling him to stay,
then they exchange attaches, and General Franklin exits. Sheridan takes the datacrystal in the playback unit and puts it in his breast pocket, concentrating intently as he mumbles quietly a phrase over and over.

INT. SMALL CORRIDOR
Sheridan emerges from the conference room, then hears a door open and sees the two Psi-Corps agents emerge from the next conference room, They coolly walk past and are gone. At the end of the cor-ridor up ahead, Sheridan makes out a figure standing in silhouette.
SHERIDAN POV on BESTER, the black-clad Psi-Cop.
President Sheridan. You know it really
isn't safe here for you. You're a long
way from the Alliance headquarters on
Minbar. Give me the datacrystal.
I don't know what you're talking about. I
am on Alliance business, do not interfere.
Please, there is no time for games. My
agents were telepathically present at your
meeting. You know, you should've taken better
precautions than you did. Most of what you
discussed we already know. But, the destination
point of that beacon from the Shadow vessel
interests us, but not for the reasons you might
think. Now, give me the datacrystal.
Bester looks to Sheridan's breast pocket as Sheridan firmly stares him down.
Don't make me force you.
Bester uses his mental powers to force Sheridan to reach into his pocket and hand over the datacrystal
Bester turns to go as Sheridan recovers, then turns back.
And what is it you have in your attache?
Anything of interest? I can't seem to
pick anything up.
Bester is scanning the attache, Sheridan trying to stay cool.
CLOSE-UP ON KOSH, the Vorlon, as a deeply rooted memory program is unleashed in Sheridan's mind.
Speak my name.

Bester is momentarily paralyzed, mentally and physically, with Sheridan instantly recognizing his moment to make his getaway, intentionally leaving the first datacrystal in Bester's hand.
ON BESTER - frozen, as he snaps back to full consciousness, frustrated and confused that Sheridan is gone. He looks quizzically at the datacrystal he holds, but turns and walks off - satisfied.
INT. GIRABALDI SPACECRAFT
Sheridan hurriedly enters the bridge of the small advanced stealth craft, where MICHAEL GIRABALDI sits, nervous and impatient, manning the state-of-the-art controls.
I thought I was going to have to go in
and get you, it was taking so long.
Sheridan sits as Girabaldi works the controls.
Yeah, well get us out of here. I had
a little run-in with Mr. Bester.
Bester!? Here!? He came?
We've got to go. Now!
Girabaldi works the controls.
I've been concentrating on the White Star
I arrived on in hopes any telepath scanning
me will focus on that ship until we get away.
Don't worry, we'll be outta here before those

EXT. EARTH SPACE STATION
The sleek, black stealth vessel seems to emerge from the a sheet of sheer darkness and races past a now-departing White Star, and into the center of a forming jump-point. The White Star goes into a dif-ferent jump-point. Girabaldi's craft is identical to Lyta's(CGI).
INT. GIRABALDI SPACECRAFT
Girabaldi reads his console.
No one following, and no one able to get
a tracking lock on this baby. What
happened with Bester?
Sheridan puts the attache on the console and opens it, the inside a mass of living neural tissue, with a datacrystal embedded within.
He was about to go after this.
Ugh. Was that really necessary?
Yes, and it worked. This mass of living neural
matter blocked Bester from reading what was in
here. But, he grew suspicious. If I hadn't had
a memory flash of Kosh, which somehow disabled
Bester, he would have this now.
Sheridan puts the case away, putting the datacrystal in the player.
It wasn't just a memory - it was something
more. . . It let me get away from Bester.
Bester was scanning me, trying to get me to
think of what was in the attache, and an image
of Kosh came to my mind. He spoke to me.
ON SHERIDAN as he has FLASHBACKS (culled from TV show), we see images of what Girabaldi's talking about.
When Kosh was killed by the Shadows and
put his presence into your body, I thought. . .

his essence was only there temporarily.
I was there when he left your body, when
the other Vorlon took him.
I can't explain it. He was there.
What did he say?
He told me to speak his name. I did,
and that froze Bester somehow.
I'd remember that one if I were you.
I'm surprised Bester showed up himself.
We knew Psi-Corps would try something
when we scheduled the meeting for
Earthbase Eleven. They certainly want
to know what we know about the Drakh.
But why? (thinking out loud) If they
are already working with the Drakh - ?
Did he go for the fake?
I think so. If the Psi-Corps pursues
the coordinates we gave them on the
other datacrystal, we will at least
have them thinking that's where we'll
make our assault. If they're working
with the Drakh, they'll look for us
there. If Psi-Corps has allied with
the Drakh, we'll be in a better strat-
egic position to fight this war on two
fronts. It'll mean killing humans.
Do Psi-Corps count as human?
Yes, Michael, they do. If you could
look beyond your personal hatred of
Bester for what he did to you -
Yeah, well, I think it'll be a cold
day in hell before that! The man messed
with my mind, rearranged things until I
didn't know who I was or what I believed -
I hope the plan works, and we can force
Psi-Corps to show their hand, but I'll bet
they're on the wrong side again. CUT TO

black market smuggling and drug-running,
so far, nothing.
We know the Drakh assault is coming.
Babylon Five is a major target. It's not
right that we haven't found anything yet,
some kind of weapons.
It could be that the rogue telepaths
which have accumulated here over the
past few months harbor agents for the
Drakh, and they're telepathically
blocking us from seeing dangers right
in front of us.
The telepaths gathering here are on
what amounts to a religious quest, to
find and create their own homeworld.
We're their jumping-off point. It's
not in their self-interest any longer
to help non-telepaths, human or alien.
I don't believe it either. But I'm
running out of ideas as to why we
haven't seen any form of sabotage
from the Drakh yet
Lochley steps over to the large viewing window, Tessa following, they watch several transports lining up to dock (CGI).
We know it's coming. It's just a
matter of when.
INT. EMPTY QUARTERS
Two SECURITY OFFICERS are seen kneeling side-by-side in the semi-darkened and empty room, perspiring, eyes wide with fright as they look up.
CAMERA PULLS BACK to REVEAL the silhouette of a Drakh, as he drops two of his fist-size scales onto the floor. The scales turn into spiderlike creatures and climb the mens' bodies as we MOVE IN close
on their terrified eyes. We see the tentacle-like probes thrust into neck flesh (CGI).

EXT. NARN HOMEWORLD / ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE
ON the BLAZING SUN as CAMERA PANS DOWN to reveal G'KAR basking in the midday sun as he stands astride the ridge of a low mountain. Looking regal and majestic, his eyes peering skyward, waiting. He is dressed in a new uniform - denoting his high position as spir-itual leader. The terrain is desert, hot and unforgiving. An arch-ealogical dig with a tunnel entrance into the mountain is visible below, near a blast crater at the base of the mountain (MATTE).
CAMERA PULLS BACK revealing workers far below where G'KAR stands, and guards standing near the entrance to the mountain.
CLOSE ON G'KAR as he smiles, a jump-point forming in the sky (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as we see a single Minbari White Star descend from the now closing jump-point to approach for landing, while G'KAR scrambles down the mountain (CGI).
EXT. NARN ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE
The White Star has landed, its delegation disembarking, DELENN emerges with LENNIER, wearing his black Ranger uniform, along with
other Minbari. G'Kar, who is huffing and puffing a bit from his run, waves a greeting and flashes a smile.
NEW ANGLE as G'Kar and Delenn embrace one another, the beautiful White Star in the BG, as well as the mountain and entrance to the archaeological site in the other direction. G'Kar takes note of the presence of Lennier, and attempts to mask his expression that he finds this a little unusual. A couple of Narn aides join G'Kar.
G'Kar. It has been too long.
Indeed it has, Delenn.
G'Kar bows to Lennier.
You look well.
As do you. It is a bit of a
reunion of sorts.

It is. How is President Sheridan?
John is well, thank you. I'm afraid
I have not seen that much of him
lately, as I have had much business
on Minbar and he has been very busy
with Alliance matters on member
worlds, Babylon Five and elsewhere.
And the coming offensive against
the Drakh . . .
Delenn does not answer.
Delenn, surely you can share infor-
mation about that. It affects the
whole of the Alliance.
Things are at a critical stage, G'Kar.
Perhaps after we've concluded our busi-
ness here, I can share more information.
Very well. (a beat) I don't mean to
pry, but is everything all right?
Delenn takes G'Kar by the arm and they walk a bit, away from the others. G'Kar takes a parasol from a Narn aide and carries it,
forgetting initially to offer it to Delenn as they emerge from the shadow of the White Star's wing into the blazing sun.
Lennier and I have been spending
time together since he turned him-
self in, and this has created a bit
of a strain in my relationship with
John. My love for John is undiminished,
but I am torn in so many ways. It has
been a difficult transition for John,
living among Minbari on Minbar. And
now with Earth facing the death of all
its people and other lifeforms from
the Drakh plague. . .
Yes, that is terrible. The Drakh seem
to match even the Shadows in their evil.
If I may say so, about your relationship,
the Minbari are the only race where more
than two in a relationship seems to work.
We Narns are like the humans, we are very
possessive of our mates.
They stop walking, G'Kar remembers the parasol as Delenn shields her eyes, squinting at the sun's glare. GROWLING from a couple of NARN SOLDIERS wrestling nearby draws their attention, as if to
emphasize the point, and reminds them both of the Narns reputation as unsophisticated. G'Kar waves the parasol at them as he yells.
You there! Behave in a manner which
befits a soldier! (notices the parasol)
Oh my! Here, I brought this for you.
(opens and hands her the parasol) How
forgetful of me! So many things on my
mind these days.
That is not what I meant, G'Kar. Thank you.
(she gets comfortable with the shade) The
humans have an expression for it, "I love
him, but I am not in love with him." Had
I never met John, Lennier would've
probably been my perfect mate - loyal
and true to the last. But the fates
took my life in another direction. I
am in love with John. And after
Lennier's actions on our journey to
Minbar when we left Babylon Five -
They begin to walk again.
I had heard about that.
Yes, it seems a many people did.
Lennier's obsessive love for me un-
hinged his mind - and in a terrible
moment he forgot all reason and nearly
left John to die. He is undergoing the
Krulkya, the ritual of atonement. The
Rangers have allowed him to remain as
one of them while he pays his debt.
And now, after many weeks apart, I
will be seeing John on Babylon Five,
of all places, after I am finished
here. The place John and I met. And
where we met.
Ah, Babylon Five. I have a felt a
strange compulsion to go there of
late - and I don't know why. Ah, I
have fond memories of the place. Yes
it was the two of you, Sheridan and
Delenn, who tipped the balance in
the Shadow War and saved the galaxy.
That is overstating it a bit. So many
people, including you, including
Lennier, had important roles in our
victory over the darkness in that war.
It hurts me to see how things have
turned out for Lennier now.
The pains of the heart can heal, but
they hurt worse than any battle wound.
I've heard Sheridan has gone to Earth -
to an orbiting base there.
(Surprised) As usual you are up on
the latest information. John has an
important meeting there.
Did it involve the telepath rebellion
or the reports of activity beyond
Delenn stops walking, as does G'KAR.
G'Kar, the Alliance is preparing for
the Drakh to strike. The Shadows have
broken their vow not to interfere in
affairs in our galaxy and are sending
signals to what we believe is a Drakh
They do seem to hate the humans the
most for their part in leading the
fight against the Shadows. The humans
run Babylon Five, it is their last
free place now that most of them are
trapped on their homeworld. And it
stands as a symbol of cooperation
among the races.
Many Alliance resources are devoted
to find the Drakh base of operations
and their hiding places, but we do not
yet have definitive proof that these
signals from the Shadows are going to a
Drakh base. It could be nothing more than
a ruse to throw us off our guard. As in
the Shadow War, individual Alliance worlds,
individual races, fear the consequences of
their association with the Alliance, part-
icularly the humans - of being seen by
the Drakh as provocateurs. Some seem to
want to tolerate Drakh intrusions into
their space, the Drakh manipulation of
their worlds. They are afraid.
Again they stop walking, G'Kar gesturing for emphasis.
They need to be reminded that freedom
does not come without risk, that some-
times blood is the price for peace!
Exactly. I could not have said it
better. That is part of the reason I
came here today. I would like you to
come with me to Babylon Five and speak
to members of the Alliance, to remind
them of this very fact. I'm sure you
know that President Sheridan has called
a meeting of the Alliance ambassadors
on Babylon Five. You have a way with
words, G'Kar. People respect you, all
that you've been through. A statement
from you could go a long way toward
building morale, and keeping member
worlds in line. Some have pledged
their forces, but others have not.
Many are holding ships we need in
reserve to protect their homeworlds.
There is logic in that.
We need them all, G'Kar, every avail-
able warship. Fear is paralyzing too
many in the Alliance.
Hmmm. At any other time, I would
gladly honor your request. But times
are especially difficult here on Narn
now, Delenn. Things are very fluid
politically. There are certain fascist
elements among the old guard agitating
for revenge on the Centauri yet a broad
peace movement is growing among the
young. I fear the potential for civil
war. I don't think, for the sake of my
people, that I can leave now. And,
besides, our forces were so devastated
in our war with the Centauri, we could
only offer a handful of ships.
We will take all we can get. Please
consider my request to come to Babylon
Five. The Alliance needs your wisdom.
G'Kar seems struck by the word. They start walking again.
With regard to the telepaths, even
some Minbari telepaths have joined the
human telepaths' quest for a home-world
I have heard. Their rebellion seems to be
spreading. Only we Narn, who no longer
have telepaths, seem free of the problem.
The matter of telepaths now affects all
of the Alliance worlds, in one way or
another. It is my understanding that
some rogue telepaths have found temp-
orary sanctuary here on Narn.
G'Kar remains silent, but his face betrays the truth of her words.
The Narn desire to re-acquire the tele-
path gene is well-known. I believe the
issue of what to do about the telepaths
cannot be put off any longer. We in the
Alliance must address the issue of
creation of a telepath homeworld where
they can live free from persecution. It
was an issue for the humans initially,
but now it is all of our problem. The
timing is just so awkward. Their demands
are legitimate, but the attention of the
Alliance is necessarily on the Drakh
threat. It seems no one has time to
listen to them -
Which could become a big problem for us
all. Talon, our ambassador, tells me
they gather in ever-growing numbers on
Babylon Five, waiting, waiting, waiting
- for what? A people in exile - I'm
afraid I don't foresee a happy ending.
Telepaths were bred and led from the
start. What kind of freedom can such
people truly ever know? To not even
be free to be alone with your own
thoughts, I cannot imagine such an
existence. (a beat) Tell me, what of
your travels with Lyta Alexander?
We saw wonders you couldn't imagine.
And terrors one shouldn't mention. Most
terrifying of all was what happened to
Lyta when we left Babylon Five together.
There is very little left of what made
her human. Whatever the Vorlons did to
her, she now has powers beyond compre-
hension. I can't imagine why they would
have made her so powerful. What is their
ultimate plan? I haven't seen her nor
heard from her since she abandoned me
on Mea Calpernica. It took me weeks to
get a transport out of there!
Did you take the leadership role your
people wanted for you? I notice your
wardrobe has changed.
I am serving as Exalted Advisor to the
provisional government - whatever that
means. They are trying to reestablish
the council of the Kari - with me at its
head. I'm afraid the religious worship
my people now bestow upon me has only
abated somewhat. I made them take down
all the large statues of me, but you still
see the small ones from time to time.
So much has changed on all of our worlds
since we all first met on Babylon Five.
Civil war on Earth and Minbar. The deva-
station to your world - it is so much worse
than I imagined. From space -
Yes, but we are rebuilding! We are a CONTINUED
free people again! The Centauri were not
able to carry out their final solution on
our world. And in the end they too suf-
fered terribly for their arrogance. The
Shadows helped them in their war against we
Narn, but now Centauri Prime burns. When
you make a pact with evil, well, that's what
you get. But we are here for much more
G'Kar takes Delenn arm in arm, leading her to the tunnel entrance.
Please, this way.
Speaking of the Centauri, Emperor
Molari - Londo - is going to Babylon
Five. He is making an Imperial tour of
Centauri territory - with an official
state visit to Babylon Five.
I had heard that. With the Drakh threat,
one would think it an inopportune time
for such a tour.
Yes, one would think. When my visit
here is concluded, I will be taking
the White Star to Babylon Five. I would
like you to come with me when I go.
Delenn, I must think about it. And to
see Londo - I don't know if I can bear
to see him as he is now. Several years
ago, who would've thought it? He has all
the trappings of power, but none of the
happiness. I swear, I have never known
a more miserable person in all my life.
Londo the drunk, Londo the gambler, Londo
the schemer. And now, Londo, the emperor.
And who would've thought that I would
transform myself into one who is part
human? Or that you would become the
supreme religious leader of the Narn?
Life is a strange journey sometimes.
But I believe our character is defined
by how we walk the path of our heart.
Life sometimes puts a path in front of
you not of your choosing, and only
your heart can guide you.
But one must apply reason as well,
lest the pull of the heart lead you
astray. Yet walk the paths of our
hearts we must, whatever the heart is
- instinct, memory, an outside spirit-
ual force. Londo has achieved all that
he wanted, but I know it is very
bittersweet for him.
G'Kar stops them walking, gesturing for emphasis.
After the Narn/Centauri war - which
the Shadows set in motion - using Londo,
playing on his ambition and weaknesses,
I reached out to Londo because of a
vision I had. I had a revelation - a
religious epiphany - that our two
peoples need each other. We have been
at each other's throats for so many
generations because we are so alike,
and our pride and honor don't ever let
us stop the fighting. Behind our scales,
behind their hair, we are not so dif-
ferent. If only our two peoples could
focus on what makes us similar rather
than what makes us different. I have
always sensed, and believe to this day,
that there is a good person somewhere
inside of Londo Molari.(In small voice)
"Let me out. Let me out" I can hear him
saying. But that person is trapped by
Centauri prejudice, ritual, and culture
- and, maybe, something more.
Delenn discreetly REACTS, knowing the truth.
I don't know that he will ever find
a way out.
Londo needs to listen to his heart,
or hearts in his case, and I don't
know if he knows how to do that.
Delenn's hair is starting to frizz from the heat as they near the tunnel entrance.
It is indeed very hot here on Narn.
We Narns are ectotherms; we take
our warmth from the sun - we love it!
And today is a beautiful day. The
hottest day in more than a year! More
and more, Delenn, the sky clears from
the dust storms kicked up by the mass-
drivers the Centauri used against our
world. This crater here was made by one
of them. But it revealed to us what I
want to show you today. And today is a
perfect day to share with you what we
G'Kar enthusiastically takes Delenn by the arm and leads her into a passageway inside the mountain. The deference of the Narn guards indicates G'Kar's high position, and in the BG can be seen Minbari
stationed near their White Star.
INT. NARN ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE
G'Kar leads Delenn through short winding tunnel in the rock to a medium sized cavern - it's spherical dome shape is perfect, seem-ingly protected against geologic forces.
ANGLE ON DELENN AND G'KAR as they enter. Vertical panels, seemingly of stone, are arrayed in a circle around the room, which at its center features the top of a large crystalline sphere emerging from the floor. Glyphs and writing on the panels is Vorlon and early Narn. Among the images is one of a Shadow creature.
What is this place?
It is a sacred temple - from a Narn
civilization pre-dating the present
one. And this, this is Vorlon writing!
(quietly) The Vorlons made contact
with our people aeons ago. And all
this time we thought they looked upon
us as too primitive to be worthy of
their attention. Delenn, you are the
one person I can trust with what we've
Delenn leans close to the sphere.
Go on, you can touch it.
Delenn touches it, and it gives off a resonant pure CHIME and a static wave passes along the invisible spherical barrier giving dimension to the room (CGI).
(reverential) It is like the sound
of the Crystals of Min Fel Lee, the
most sacred place on Minbar. CONTINUED
There's more. Follow me.
G'Kar leads Delenn behind a panel which is ajar.
They slowly progress through the short hall.
Delenn, because of my writings, and
my actions during the Centauri and
Shadow Wars, I am now regarded by my
people as the supreme religious leader.
We have no separate religious caste as
with your people, but I now find my-
self holding a position in society
which I could only equate to the head
of the religious caste on Minbar -
the position you hold.
G'Kar stops and takes Delenn's hands.
But I don't feel I have all the answers,
particularly in this matter. Thus, I
must ask your counsel on what we've
found. Only I and two scientists know
what is here.
They enter a hidden chamber.
G'Kar and Delenn squeeze through a fallen entrance panel opening and walk toward a central pedestal holding a tiny glowing white stone (about the size of a coin). A couple of shafts of sunlight filters in around them from cracks in the rocks on one side (CGI).
ANGLE ON GLOWING STONE as it intensely radiates a diffuse white light, and creates a low pleasing TONE (CGI).
What is it?
It is a gift from the Vorlons, from
an age when we Narn had no better than
stone age technology, and the Vorlons
had not hardened into the cynical
warriors they became, they left us
the device below. We believe this is
the control mechanism.
The Vorlons were still nurturing races
and helping them to evolve at that time
in history. You said a mechanism?
It is a power source, Delenn! A power
source of such magnitude it could be
used to restore our world ten times over
- (gravely) or, as a great and terrible
weapon. We Narn, who have been bombed
almost back into the stone age now have
the means to generate enough power to
rebuild our entire world in less than
CLOSE ON G'KAR
But I fear that my people will quickly
set their hearts on revenge. We are a
warrior race. I do not think I alone can
convince them to look past old hatreds
and agree that we must end the fighting
between Narn and Centauri for once and
for all. How do I convince them, Delenn?
(a beat) I see your dilemma. Is it
All that's left is to figure out how to
make it work. You wouldn't believe the
energy readings we've taken from it.
What is this inscription? I recognize
the Vorlon, but it appears to be a
Yes, a different dialect than the one
they used in modern times. One of our
scientists thinks he knows what it means.
I can only make out part of it from
the Vorlon I have studied. "End fire..."
"An end in fire or a new beginning in
light. The one with wisdom will choose."
G'Kar, you are the one with wisdom.
Don't you see? You are the one who
will choose. We are people of destiny,
G'Kar. When Sheridan went to Zahadoum
and died, only to have his life force
given back to him by the First One Lorian,
he knew in that moment he must sacrifice
his life - not knowing it wasn't the end.
When I underwent the transformation I did,
becoming an outcast among my own people
despite the high positions I hold, I did
it because I sensed a destiny before me.
G'Kar, you too have a destiny.
What is clear, Delenn, is that we cannot
let this fall into the wrong hands. Who
knows how much power this could generate,
and what it could do if used as a weapon?
We do not yet know how to make it work. I
have thought carefully about offering it
to the Alliance to fight the Drakh, if we
can get it to work. But I cannot make that
decision alone. Until our government works
out its problems, we are not likely to come
to consensus on anything. I called you here
to ask for Ranger protection for this find.
This must be kept secret for as long as pos-
sible - certainly until we learn how to
safely operate it. It's clear from the
artifacts all around that this is intended
for Narns, for our world. As we cannot yet
properly defend ourselves after our losses
in the wars, I ask for you to help us pro-
tect what is ours through your influence
with the Alliance on Babylon Five and as
head of the Rangers.
I will tell you now that the Alliance
plans a major assault against the Drakh
if we find their base.
I had suspected as much.
Nearly all Rangers and their White Stars
will be involved in this task. But I will
discuss it with them. I don't know what
resources we could allocate, but we'll find
a way. I agree this is too important to
They exit, and head to the main chamber.
Why did the Vorlons leave this for
Narn? Do you know?
The inscriptions in the panels of this
place tell the whole story. The Vorlons
knew we would be victimized again and
again by other races simply due to our
geography in space. We lie directly
inbetween Vorlon space and what has been
historically Shadow-controlled space.
Delenn and G'Kar emerge into the main chamber.
The Shadows are mentioned -
He motions to a panel with a Shadow image on it.
I agree this find needs protection
from opportunists who would misuse
it. Let me return to the White Star
for consultations. I understand now
why you feel you cannot leave.
I will record a message for the Alliance.
I will relay it to Talon at Babylon Five,
to be played at your meeting of the Council.
I can at least do that.
We will have to manage without your
Delenn puts a happy face on her considerable disappointment.
Thank you Delenn. CUT TO
EXT. ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE TUNNEL ENTRANCE
Delenn emerges, G'Kar following behind, as Delenn heads for the White Star, grabbing the parasol leaning near the cave entrance to
protect herself from the sun. G'Kar looks heartened and glad, then lifts his face toward the sun to feel the warmth.
EXT. SPACE - THE RIM
Blackness gives way to the edge of the galaxy - a zone of swirling emptiness creating a line of demarcation between the foreground white light of stars in their infinite multitude and the oblivion of the Rim and the blackness beyond (CGI).
WE PUSH IN until the white lights of stars are just barely visible LOWER FRAME, as a Shadow vessel screeches into view from the black-ness, FILLING FRAME, turning front-on and firing its lavender beam (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as two Vorlon vessels pursue, the three ships spiralling in a dance of death, exchanging deadly bursts of weapons fire - the Vorlon vessels seemingly preventing the Shadow vessel from re-entering the galaxy. One Vorlon vessel and the Shadow vessel annihilate one another, with the second Vorlon vessel returning
beyond the Rim. (CGI)

The Centauri Imperial Vessel, accompanied by several support ships - some military, some ceremonial - makes its way through hyperspace (CGI).
INT. CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
EMPEROR LONDO MOLARI ambles around the deck, bored and a little drunk, accompanied by two veiled telepath girls and a retinue of aides, stopping to look out one of the many large windows on the
expansive command deck. He finishes a drink, an aide takes the cup.
EXT. CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
We see Londo's face through the glass as he peers out, feeling the weight of his emptiness and sadness (CGI/COMPOSITE).
INT. CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL/AT WINDOW
Londo adjusts his collar, the Drakh KEEPER CREATURE attached to his neck becomes visible and opens its eye. Londo sighs heavily and covers it up. He looks back to the telepath girls, and sees the
keeper creatures keeping around their necks (CGI).
Yes, I hear you. (sigh) Coming.
Londo, stepping away from the window, motions to the group.
Stay there, I wish a moment alone.
Londo heads back to a screened portion of the command deck, an observation room.
LONDO'S DRAKH appears.
Let me guess, I'm drinking too much
again, interfering with your pet
here. (Looks down to his neck) CONTINUED
Reduce the vessel's speed.
What? Why? You were against this tour
in the first place - which I remind
you is traditional for my people! And
will lend some sense of normalcy to our
world - all the better to hide your
presence. I pushed for months to have
some time away from the palace and you
refused. Why would you wish to extend
it even for a few more moments? Besides,
if we reduce speed we will miss the grand
welcome our most remote outpost at Hesh-
land has prepared for me -
We will not be going to Heshland.
Not going to Heshland? But Babylon
Five does not expect us until after
we go to Heshland -
Cease this idle chatter.
You didn't want me to go, but ever
since you agreed, you seek to
control every aspect of the tour.
This tour now works to our purposes.
I grow weary from the wine, and
(trying to stay quiet)
I'm sick of obeying! I have done
everything you've told me to so that
you won't kill more of my people or
destroy more of Centauri Prime. You
Drakh have made my life a living hell
with this - (motions to his neck)
Hell lasts forever. Your life won't.
Londo suffers a flash of pain then collects himself. He opens his eyes to see that the Drakh is gone, and returns to the bridge, his brow dappled with sweat and his face pale.
All eyes are on Londo as he returns.
What, your highness?
I said, "another drink."
His cup is refilled, as he walks to, then looks over the state-of-the-art command console and the diligent staff manning the controls, then casts a disdainful glance back at the observation deck. The other Centauri discreetly look back, wondering.
So this is what we get for seven
billion Centauri ducats. Very impres-
sive. I'm sure the late Emperor Cartagia
would've been happy to see the finished
product. Perhaps I should've taken his
rotting head off the pike it was put on
and placed it on prow of this ship so
he could see where I go in his place.
Londo casually walks over to the Captain's chair and stands next to the captain, making him uncomfortable, then drinks down his cup and hands the cup to an aide.
So the traditional tour of the empire
is almost complete. All we have left is
our outer perimeter sentry at Heshland
and a courtesy call to Babylon Five. How
long until we get to there?
A little less than one standard day,
Not Heshland, Babylon Five!
Three days, your highness.
A change in plans. We will skip Hesh-
land and go directly to Babylon Five.
But the Imperial tour has been cal-
culated to the minute. They will not
be ready for us on Babylon Five, and -
(sharply) I imagine this vessel could
go much faster, yes?
Of course, emperor. We travel at the
speed set forth under royal protocols.
Yes, the protocols. (eyes the seat)
May I, captain?
Londo stares down the captain, making him give up his command chair. Londo takes the chair, enjoying the moment.
Navigator, reduce speed.
The navigator looks to the captain, and a nod tells him to comply with the order. Londo's body physically relaxes at having complied with the Drakh's order.
The Imperial vessel slows, the other vessels match speed (CGI).
INT. CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL/BRIDGE
If we are to skip Heshland, and
travel at a reduced rate of speed,
when is it you would like to arrive
at Babylon Five?
I don't know. But, somehow, I have
a feeling it will just come to me.
I was once a pilot myself, you know,
captain. Another. (motions for a drink)
The Centauri Captain and the Imperial Aide exchange a look.
All in the Royal Fleet and the Empire
are aware of your distinguished flight
I was rather good. Because I would
take risks that other pilots would
not, and because I always knew my
limits. A truly great pilot knows the
limits so you can go right to the edge
and survive. Power is much the same way,
captain. But power is not freeing the
way piloting a vessel is. . . at least
not for me. Power comes with strings
attached. . .you two know a little
something about that.
Londo looks to the telepath sisters.
Power, forever pulling you this way
and that. Power corrupts, and, sometimes,
You're in an introspective mood this
evening, your highness.
When you've had to make the choices
I've had to make, then you may talk
to me of introspection!
Londo sits quietly, numb and empty. He drinks down his cup.
Navigator, move us away from the
The navigator looks nervously to the captain, who again nods for him to comply.
The Imperial vessel pulls out front of the other vessels (CGI).
INT. CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
Navigator, transfer flight control
to the panel on this chair.
The Navigator again looks to the captain, who again nods nervously for him to comply.
Navigator, you look to be a young man.
Tell me, have you ever done a Molari CONTINUED
loop in this vessel? It is such an
audacious and against-regulations
maneuver. Well, have you?
No, Emperor Molari.
Well, I shall show you. If done right,
young man, the G-forces hold everything
in place despite the ship's motion playing
havoc with the artificial gravity systems.
Emperor Molari, the stresses on the
Imperial vessel -
Will be within limits, if the reports
I've read about the construction of this
vessel can be believed. If the money
really went into this vessel and not
into the contractors' pockets, we will
be able to do a Molari loop, yes? (a beat)
Is there anything you want to tell me?
No, your highness.
Good! Navigator, watch and learn.
DRAKH KEEPER CREATURE POV as it looks at Londo who returns a disdainful smirk.
Londo engages the control panel on the captain's chair.
The Imperial vessel does a sideways loop at high speed, ending up where it began (CGI).
Londo howls with joy at the maneuver and the discomfort it causes everyone else.

Londo engages a button on the control panel and the vessel jolts into high speed. CROSSCUT
The Imperial vessel rockets ahead of the other vessels, which quickly increase speed to catch up (CGI).
It seems we got our money's worth,
Captain! That's the most fun I've
had in ages. Aargh -
Londo all but falls from the Captain's chair in pain, hyper-ventilating, wheezing.

ON LONDO, now sweating, gasping for breath, his attendants administering to him. The two telepath girls look back to the
Drakh, as if receiving instructions, then look to each other
as if disobeying.
Londo is lying prostrate on the floor, his attendants hovering over him. The Drakh appears, stalking to the center of the bridge, holding a trigger-device all seem to recognize and fear.
(delirious, short of breath)
I long for the days of my old ambassad-
orial job on Babylon Five. (gasps) The
political intrigue among all of those
alien races - playing this one against
that one - sometimes just for the fun of
it.(coughs) And the mistakes. Ah, how
one mistake can cause so much ruin. . .
Londo passes out as a LOUD DISTRESS TONE sounds, the telepath girls sense something dangerous and place their hands on Londo's head.
CENTAURI COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Captain, we're picking up a strange
reading - a large field motion
anomaly off the hyperspace beacon.
Off the beacon?
The Drakh is panicked as the captain goes to the control console and looks at a display of distortion in hyperspace (COMPOSITE/CGI).
CENTAURI CAPTAIN (CONTINUED)
What the -?

Hundreds of small spherical war drones arrayed in a geometric pattern race past the Centauri fleet, seemingly ignoring it. The listing of the Centauri vessels shows that they are no longer under control of their navigators. Two smaller Centauri support vessels collide and are destroyed in what seems too big an explosion for the size of the craft. A couple of the larger vessels seem to come under automatic stabilizing control (CGI).

holes with a little blood are visible. He looks to the dead girls and sees that their creatures are dead too.
He said it would kill me if this came
off. I'm alive - They must have saved
me. They had some free will left at the end.
Londo staggers to his feet and walks back to find the Drakh dead. A broad and satisfied smile crosses his face. He drags the Drakh by his feet, sees the trigger device and picks it up, leaving the Drakh. Horrified, he goes to a receptacle and drops the device into it, then pushes a button.
EXT. HYPERSPACE / CLOSE ON CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
The trigger device flies away from the vessel out a disposal air lock (CGI).
Londo again pulls the Drakh, and pushes his body into a larger air-lock, then closes the door and pushes a button.
EXT. HYPERSPACE / CLOSE ON CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
The body of the Drakh flies from the vessel (CGI).
Londo looks out the window at the Drakh floating in space (CGI/
Ha! You evil Canfah! I'm free of
you at last!
Londo notices the other vessels listing (CGI) and races back to the bridge, now sobered up.
Is anyone here alive!? (panicked)
Londo races to the navigator chair, gingerly pushes aside the dead Centauri sitting in it and takes the seat.
Computer, contact all other vessels
in the fleet.
No response. Automatic safety

Arm defenses, all vessels.
Defense grid activated.
Engage navigational control of all
other Centauri vessels in armada on
voiceprint of Emperor Londo Molari.
Navigational control eleven operable
Centauri vessels enabled.
Two vessels destroyed in collision.
An image plays out of the two vessels being destroyed, with the explosion seeming too large for the impact (CGI/COMPOSITE). Londo seems confused.
(wipes his brow)
That collision should not have caused
an explosion. Computer, stabilize all
vessels, spread them out - put a little
more distance between us. Slow all vessels
to one-quarter previous speed. And keep
scanning for life signs. Scan all vessels
for weapons ordinance.
The Centauri vessels spread out equidistantly and stabilize while slowing (CGI).
INT. COMMAND DECK CENTAURI IMPERIAL VESSEL
Well, that's something I guess.
Scan for life signs complete. One
Centauri lifeform: identity, Emperor
One? That can't be. There are over
four-hundred on this vessel alone, and
the food animals. Only me? Scan again!
Londo stands and clutches at his two hearts, shaken by what has happened, looking to the dead all around him.
What has happened? Computer, are there
any other vessels in the vicinity? Any
ships on attack vector?
No non-Centauri vessels in vicinity.
We may be off the beacon -
Londo sits back down at the navigation console and works the panel.
There. We were just slightly off the
beacon - less than one degree. How
long were we off course?
Thirty-one standard minutes. Weapons
inventory complete: Forty-nine compact
thermonuclear missiles, one-hundred and
eighty plasma bombs, fifty-one -
Computer, stop. Plasma bombs?
Nuclear missiles? Why would we be - ?
Londo stands, rocked with a realization, and begins to pace, walking the circumference of the large command deck as he thinks out loud.
Babylon Five. Of course. The Drakh
planned to destroy Babylon Five with
our ships, and me as their ruse to get
close. I must notify Centauri Prime -
no, I'm too vulnerable. Babylon Five
is expecting me. I only ever saw this
Drakh, but surely there must be others
about the palace - those others unseen
pulling the strings. I need to buy myself
some time. (thinks) The Drakh knew. . .
Computer, replay data on attack on
the Royal fleet.
A large display plays out images in front of the main console showing the war drones streaming past the Centauri vessels. The image jumps to static, then empty hyperspace (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Playback image. Stop. Enlarge. Enhance.
The display shows a grainy close-up of a Drakh war drone (CGI).
What is this?
Londo has a realization and walks over to a communications panel on the far wall.
Imperial level private transmission
to Vir Cotto on Babylon Five from
Londo Molari. CONTINUED
Londo wipes his brow, sighs heavily, and tries to collect himself as he scans around the room at the dead all around him. He waits for the screen to come to life.
Life scans on eleven Centauri vessels
read one Centauri lifeform, identity:
Yes, I know! Quiet computer!
The communications monitor comes on and VIR COTTO appears, looking
a bit flustered, having been asleep. (CROSSCUT between the two locations and INSERT their images on the viewscreens.)
Londo - Emperor Molari. Your armada
isn't due to check in again for
another - two standard hours.
Vir, are you alone?
Vir, there has been an attack. Two
ships lost. Everyone is dead, Vir.
Wha - Attack!? What do you mean
everyone is dead?
Just that! Everyone! I am the only
one alive, Vir! We've been attacked.
My telepath escort protected me. It
had to be a - telepathic attack, some-
thing we've never seen before. No
weapons were even fired. Every Centauri
in the Imperial armada is dead!
That would be over a thousand - Who
attacked? The telepaths haven't made
war on anyone yet.
(evasive) It's not the telepaths making
war - they were used! I don't know who -
Some kind of weapons drones - hundreds of
them. Small ships, maybe the - Drakh. I
The Drakh? CONTINUED
(quietly) Yes, I think so.
There is something very sinister
about them. I think they're worse
than the Shadows.
If you only knew, Vir. Listen to
me, carefully -
I'll send for help from Centauri Prime,
and get Captain Lochley to send Babylon
Five fighters! I'll call Sheridan! You're
all alone out there. A Centauri emperor
without escort, it's never -
Listen to me, Vir! Under no circum-
stances are you to contact Centauri
Prime and let them know what has hap-
pened. It would be the signal to my
enemies within the Royal Court that
they can come and finish me off - and
maybe you too. I need you to maintain
the appearance that the state visit is
still scheduled as planned as long as
you can. You must contact President
Sheridan and tell him what has happened -
Sheridan is coming here. He may be
That is good. But tell only him! If my
suspicions are correct, Babylon Five may
be subject to - unseen forces, or attack.
Alliance worlds are in immediate
danger! Tell Sheridan! Why would
Sheridan be going to Babylon Five?
There is an emergency council session.
I think the Alliance is planning an
attack on the Drakh, but it is very
hard to get information - they're not
telling the Centauri delegation anything.
No, I don't suppose they are. CONTINUED
Londo, are you all right?
Vir, everyone around me is dead.
(starts laughing) But, for the first
time in a long time, yes, I am all
right. (feels around his neck)
Vir sees the neck wounds from the Drakh keeper.
Londo, you're not making sense.
No, I'm sure I do not. Vir, I need you to
hurry. I don't have much time until my con-
dition becomes known, and I can't stay here.
I'm taking the Imperial vessel away from here.
You're going to pilot ? -
Vir! Go now. I will be all right. I know
now I wasn't the target. (gasps) We weren't
even supposed to be here! Great Maker!
What!? What is it?
I think I know where those things
are going. Ohh - (abruptly)I must go,
now! Protect Centauri interests, Vir!
Londo cuts off the transmission, charges over to the control panel.
Computer, plot course trajectory
and estimated speed for enemy
vessels which attacked our fleet.
The display on the console shows a grid and a planet at the end of the arc of travel (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Of course. Computer, give over full
control of this vessel - weapons,
navigation, everything, to me!
A pregnant pause as Londo weighs his decision. A CRACKLE sounds as a technomage symbol appears before him, being drawn in the air in its golden glow (CGI). He focuses his eyes, not believing he really sees it, seeming annoyed by the distraction, wipes his face and looks again. The symbol is gone. He focuses again on the control panel and operates the controls.
I can't leave those weapons. The
Drakh cannot be allowed to use them.
The Imperial Centauri vessel moves away from the other Centauri vessels, all of which then explode. The Imperial vessel then blasts away at top speed (CGI). DISSOLVE
EXT. SPACE - BABYLON 5
Beautiful and majestic, the sun rises behind the huge station, with the planet Epsilon 3 visible below. Defense grids are active (CGI).
NEW ANGLE on Girabaldi's sleek, black vessel emerging from the
jump-gate and heading for the station (CGI) - FOLLOWING.
INT. GIRABALDI'S VESSEL
Sheridan and Girabaldi are seated at the control console.
Mars-registered private shuttle,
you are clear to dock.
Thank you, Babylon Five.
Lt. Corwin, put me through to Captain
Lochley, please. And, tell me, why is
the station on alert?
LT. CORWIN (VO)
Captain Lochley received information
from the Centauri ambassador about a
possible military threat.

LT. CORWIN runs the busy control center in the absence of the captain, and appears excited at hearing Sheridan's voice.
I will route you through to Captain
Lochley's comlink, Mr. President.
LT. CORWIN (VO)
I have Captain Lochley on the line.
Mr. President. I've just received
word, two Earthforce destroyers with
the first wave - scout ships sent to
Vorlon space - have been destroyed.
SHERIDAN and GIRABALDI REACT.

INT. BABYLON 5 CENTRAL AIRSPACE
CAMERA PUSHES IN and ROTATES in a dizzying somewhat disorienting manner which reveals the inside structure of the station and its
vast scale, DROPPING DOWN THROUGH DECKS to the central commercial corridor, the Zocalo. TALON, the Narn ambassador walks by.
CAMERA PUSHES IN for some time to give scale and to create the impression of large numbers as we see throngs of aliens and humans, conducting business, walking, gathering, talking. A hand-made graffito on the wall says "Remember Byron," in large letters
and in smaller letters next to it (two later graffiti in another color) reads: "Telepath Homeworld Now," and "Telepath Freedom."
Many human, and some Minbari and other alien telepaths sit along walls and in groups, patiently waiting for something.
CAMERA PULLS BACK now through the throng, then PANS to a CLOSE UP
on the face of Tessa. She toggles her comlink in response to its BREEP.
This is Captain Lochley. Tessa, I need
you to meet President Sheridan and Mr.
Girabaldi. Their vessel has arrived.
On my way.
Tessa toggles off then surveys the crowd and continues walking, through the crowd an into a corridor in the BG.
NEW ANGLE as a line of telepath demonstrators snakes through the crowd, perhaps thirty, mostly human, a couple of Minbari. The silent protesters carry signs is support of a telepath homeworld. A few hecklers dog them. One sign reads "Homeworld Now."
CAMERA PANS to the face of a DRAZI TERRORIST, wearing a cowl.
A Drakh KEEPER CREATURE becomes visible, its eye opens for a moment, inside the cowl the Drazi wears as a covering(CGI).
NEW ANGLE on the Drazi's hands as he discretely arms an explosive device, before placing it back under his clothing. He walks into
the crowd and is gone.
CAMERA PANS to a hooded figure, who's eyes follow the path of the Drazi just seen. CAMERA PULLS BACK from X-CLOSE UP of the eyes to
reveal a disguised SUSAN IVANOVA. She wears a hooded cloak also and looks serious. She follows the path of the Drazi into the crowd.
IVANOVA carefully follows the Drazi through the busy room. CUT TO
INT. BAY 13
Girabaldi and Sheridan depart their stealth vessel, meeting up with Tessa, who awaits them on the landing.
Mr. President. Mr. Girabaldi. No
word yet on what destroyed the two
Earthforce vessels near the Dead Zone.
We don't have that many left. Which
two were they?
The Praxis and the Charon.
Good captains both. They knew the
risks. But I think it confirms what
we suspected. What is the military
threat Vir brought to your attention?
He wasn't specific. He just insists
that we may be attacked. Centauri
Prime doesn't confirm what he's saying.
In fact, they don't know what he's
Is Captain Lochley ready for our meeting?
I'll have to see Vir after we're through.
(holds up the datacrystal) This can't wait.
She's been awaiting your arrival.
Is this bay thirteen?
Tessa nods in the affirmative.
This place still gives me the creeps.
Sheridan is last in line as they file out, and he touches the hand rail, resulting in a memory flash.
ON SHERIDAN as he REACTS to images in his head, and can't seem to let go of the handrail.
MEDIUM CLOSE ON KOSH as if he were standing there holding the handrail, facing Sheridan.
When the three forces of light
appear, speak my name.
ON SHERIDAN as he REACTS. Girabaldi and Tessa notice and stop to await him. Sheridan looks at his hand.
I'm all right. I touched that rail -
and had another vision of...Kosh.
The Vorlon Ambassador? This is the
bay where he parked his vessel when
he was here.
Girabaldi is pensive as the head out.
INT. DOWN BELOW
The run-down, dirty part of the station for the dispossessed and down on their luck, is dimly lit and features sections either heavily populated or nearly empty. The disguised IVANOVA cland-estinely follows the Drazi.
INT. CORRIDOR NEAR REACTOR / ACCESS PANEL
The Drazi opens a panel in the wall and is about to stick the ex-plosive device inside when a PPG blaster is held at the back of his head, with its telltale armed TONE sounding.
Stop what you're doing.
You don't understand, I must do
what I'm told. I must -
(sarcastic) Yeah, and I must stop you.
The Drazi continues.
You don't understand. I will kill
you if you don't stop.
You...don't understand. Death would
be welcome -
The Drazi continues, as if fighting himself, and IVANOVA has no choice and she kills him with one blast. The Drazi drops to the ground, and the Drakh keeper creature becomes visible. Horrified, IVANOVA blasts it too (CGI).
Lyta's vessel streams past. It is now clear that her vessel is identical to Girabaldi's (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Lyta leaves the console of the small craft and heads aft, where DR.
STEPHEN FRANKLIN lies sleeping, beyond a sealed clear partition.
Wake up, Stephen.
Dr. Franklin slowly stirs, and awakens. Lyta looks over her physical wounds and acknowledges the pain.
How long have I been out?
Three days. CONTINUED

information I had to find out - and
didn't know how long it would take, so

what happened? And where are we?
Lyta's eyes go white as she attempts to telepathically heal her-self, to no avail (CGI).
You can't do it, can you? Despite
Her face straining with concentration, Lyta breaks off her attempt and sighs/whimpers with exhaustion.
You can't keep going on like this.
Your body is not super-human the way
your mind is. You will kill yourself.
And then what good will you be to the
telepaths you are trying to help? I
wish, dammit - if I could only touch
you. I could treat you myself.
Your infection with the Drakh virus
makes that a little difficult. If I
hadn't found you when I did, the Drakh
would've certainly found you and killed
you. I'm sorry I had to put you to sleep
as quickly as I did, there was no time to
explain until now. Tell me, why were you
near Vorlon space?
Back on Earth, in the Zenobiology lab I
head up, I received a tip from a rogue
telepath. It seems that since you and I
worked together in the past on Babylon
Five, telepaths - excluding Psi-Corp of

course - consider me trustworthy. I was
told, or rather it was put into my mind,
that a solution to the Drakh plague could
be found near where you found my vessel
drifting in space. It wasn't exactly that
coordinates were put into my head, I just
knew where to go. I would have died from
the cold or lack of oxygen if you hadn't
found me when you did.
Dr. Franklin approaches the glass, touching it for emphasis.
DR. FRANKLIN (CONTINUED)
Lyta, if you know something that will
help us destroy the Drakh plague, you
must tell me. We on Earth have less than
a year to find a treatment or cure for the
plague or all life on Earth will die. Hyenas,
weaver spiders, magnolia trees, barracuda,
crows, striped bass, fourteen kinds of
beetles - not to mention tens of bacteria -
are gone already. More species are dying out
every day. We don't have much more time.
You are a good man, Stephen. You don't
have hidden agendas. It's been a long
time since I've been able to share some-
one's company and not worry about what
angle they're playing or how they wish to
use me, or harm me. It is I who had one of
my agents on Earth put that information
into your mind.
You have a long reach.
The galaxy is very large; I need one.
(a beat) I arranged for you to be where
I found you - and why my ship is equipped
for you. (motions to the glass) I have a
role for you to play. Right now, I need
you to sit very still, and breathe very
slowly. Lower your heart rate if you can.
What are you going to do?
Lyta's eyes blaze white again, as he complies (CGI).
I'm going to cure you of that Drakh
virus coursing through your body.
But there are billions of virus
particles - machines really. How?
Every machine has a brain, in this
case there are just a lot of them.
Lyta's eyes glow furiously white as she concentrates, rising to a standing position, with streams of white light passing from her eyes to Dr. Franklin, enveloping him briefly with a white halo
around his body. . . then the light fades completely (CGI).
How do you feel?
Not so different, I'm afraid.
Lyta operates a control, and the facing pane of glass pulls back.
You are cured. No Drakh virus particles
in your body or on your person or things
is operable any longer. Now, does your
medical bag have something to help me?
Dr. Franklin is stunned, yet immediately removes a scanner from his medical bag and points it toward himself reading its findings - his jaw drops at the truth of her words. He now tends to Lyta's wounds.
Starving, now that you mention it.
Lyta gives him some bread, and he devours a bite while immediately beginning to treat her wounds.
Thank you, Stephen.
What's going to happen, Lyta?
I can't tell you yet. But you should know
that there is hope for Earth. It comes at
a price, however. That's all I can say for
now. I'll need to sleep for a while when
you're finished. Then we have important
Where are we going?
Babylon Five. CUT TO
Moving very slowly, the PSI-CORPS MOTHERSHIP appears almost motion-less, with a few support vessels nearby, and a few Drakh vessels berthed next to it (CGI) as we PUSH IN.
INT. PSI-CORPS MOTHERSHIP/CORRIDOR
CAMERA PULLS BACK as BESTER walks TOWARD CAMERA in a FULL SHOT as
he heads forthrightly along a main hall. His face is stern as we
MOVE CLOSE on his expression.
NEW ANGLE as BESTER turns down another hall and we see the sleek, military, arched-corridor, spare steel look of the ship. A few Psi-Corps guards stand at either side of a doorway on the right.
INT. PSI-CORP MOTHERSHIP CONFERENCE ROOM
BESTER enters the empty room, his jaw clenched. Emerging from the shadows in the semi-darkened room is the DRAKH ENVOY.
And what is your decision?
The decision we reached is that we
will make no decision at this time.
Bester slowly circles the Drakh, glancing warily behind his cowl.
You must decide now. The plan is
unfolding as we speak.
(laughs) No, I don't think so. It serves
your purposes if we decide to join you,
but it is not clear to us how it serves
ours. Your people did, after all, poison
our homeworld. I will miss the blue sky,
the crashing of the waves, the flowers,
the trees, if my world dies because of your
poison. Many Psi-Corps telepaths are trapped
on Earth. Many millions more humans with the
telepath gene are also trapped on Earth. The
Psi-Corps is mother, the Psi-Corps is father.
Yet we cannot protect them, provide for their
well-being if they cannot leave, or, worse,
face a death sentence. And we have heard
disturbing reports about telepath cloning by
the Drakh. How is it then, that it serves our
interests to join you?
You seek to rule your world. And you wish to
survive. We will use our influence to remove
those in the way to insure that power is yours.
We have promised an antidote for those chosen
to survive. We have shown you one who has been
cured of the virus. We will give you the cure.
But you must join us. . .or become our enemy.
I have never liked threats, and, forgive my
skepticism, I and my associates remain uncon-
vinced of the Drakh ability and willingness to
deliver such an antidote.
The Drakh pulls out of his cloak a vial of blue-colored liquid encased in a cube of clear resin-like material.
Do you doubt now?
DRAKH ENVOY (CONTINUED)
You know that I speak the truth. This is
the antidote. Enough for one.
(scans) You speak the truth. But even if you
were to provide us the antidote - in sufficient
quantity - our world wouldn't be worth living
on without plants and animals and the necessary
microorganisms which form the basis of our food-
chain. Some species are lost already. Saving one
species is one thing, a whole world, quite another.
They can be cloned. Those species not already
dead can be saved. Earth and its humans des-
troyed our home, Zahadoum. But we will allow
you to save yours.
You blew up Zahadoum when you left it. I was
there. Humans didn't destroy it.
Not so! Sheridan's nuclear weapons made our
home uninhabitable, the radiation spread
There is an uncomfortable impasse.
You have weakened Earth, perhaps permanently,
and tilted the balance of power in Earth
sector clearly toward the Alliance, and against
you. If we join you, we become the enemy of the
Alliance. The Psi-Corps has always preferred to
keep a low profile. We are without the resources
to defend a whole planet ourselves.
After our masters' final plan unfolds - and we
release our new weapon - the Alliance will exist
no more, and a weakened Earth will be there for
the taking by the strongest. Help us destroy the
Alliance and Earth is yours to rule.
There was a time when we in the Psi-Corps
thought war was coming, when telepaths would
have to destroy, or at the very least, subjugate
the mundanes on Earth. Your poison has taken the
steam out of that. Tell me, just what is going
on at the Rim? And what of this new weapon?
The Drakh squares off.
Do not attempt to scan me for your answers, or
I will make it a painful experience for you.
You Drakh do enjoy special mental powers. You're
not telepaths exactly. And those creatures, a
very unique form of control and communication.
However, based on past performance, your side
seems to keep its end of a bargain. But not every-
one in Psi-Corps wanted the alliance with the
Shadows. Psi-Corps is, believe it or not, a rather democratic organization. It's hard not to be when everyone is reading everyone else's thoughts -
lies don't last very long. The quarantine of
Earth, however, has caused a split in Psi-Corps leadership - those on Earth and those of us out
here aren't exactly seeing eye to eye these days.
I am no longer answerable to the 'folks back home'
as it were. I dare say the leadership of Psi-Corps
there is desperate to strike a deal - anything to
save themselves. We know what Psi-Corps on Earth
has promised you. But out here, where we are a
little more objective, loyalties have - shifted.
ON BESTER hardening his gaze. About a dozen serious-looking, black-clad Psi-Cops enter the room and form a circle around the Drakh.
It is time for you to leave. And I will
take the antidote.
The Drakh squares off again, his back stiffening.
You will do no such thing.
The Drakh pulls another clear cube from his cowl, this one contain-ing a vial of red liquid. Bester and the other telepaths instantly REACT, recoiling in horror. As he speaks, the Drakh holds the cube outstretched, as if a torch, clearing a circle around himself.
DRAKH ENVOY (CONTINUED)
Ah, you know what this is. Yes, it is the
virus developed by the human Edgars to kill
telepaths. It is we who stole it from you
after you stole it from him - after you
murdered him on Mars. We modified the virus
to kill telepaths of any species, but since
human telepaths serve our needs best, we have
designed it for greatest effectiveness against
human telepaths. I can remove the protective
casing and destroy every telepath aboard this
vessel. How then would the Psi-Corps rule the
Earth? You have no choice but to align your-
selves with us.
The Drakh uses telekineses to send a datacrystal flying from
Bester's jacket pocket into his other outstretched hand, whereupon he crushes it.
DRAKH ENVOY (CONTINUED)
The information given to you was false. We
too had operatives at the Earthbase for
Sheridan's meeting. Sheridan and the Alliance
seek to manipulate you - to make fools of
you. Our masters saw great promise in you
and your organization. And now you dare to
fail them? Reconsider your position, carefully.
Look now into my mind.
The Drakh stares down Bester, who responds by scanning the Drakh.
DRAKH ENVOY (CONTINUED)
This is what Sheridan didn't want you to
see. Go to this place, then give us your
answer. We will be there. Accept the new order,
accept the role we have chosen for you. Or be
The Drakh heads for the exit opening the door telekinetically, Psi-Corps agents almost jumping aside for him, and is gone.
ANGLE ON BESTER as he huddles with a couple senior officers.
Prepare my ship and crew, at once.
CROSSFADE EXT. NARN - ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE
DELENN sits in the shade under the wing of the White Star, G'KAR beside her, they are having lunch.
I know it is hot for you and the rest
of the Minbari. We can eat inside.
I wouldn't think of it, G'Kar. "When in
Rome, do as the Romans," the humans say.
The Rangers will call with their answer
soon. Events are unfolding even now which
affect their allocation. (a beat) You know,
I should've visited your world much sooner.
Yes, I could've taken you to the Temples of
Kamfoor - gone now. It was our greatest
architectural achievement - before. . .I'm
just glad you're here under good circumstances.
'Tis better to have too much good fortune to
trouble you than too little. Mmmm. This is
good, what is it?
The humans make it from the processed milk
of a large land herbivore - cheese they call
it. It's really become quite popular on Minbar.
We've imported some of these animals - bovines
- cows - they are called. And an even better
cheese is made from the milk of a smaller
animal - goats they are called.
In the BG a military style Narn vessel lands, a safe distance from the White Star (CGI).
Hmm. I wonder what they're doing out here?
That is a military vessel, is it not?
Yes. Probably some general wanting to see
what we're up to - probably doesn't believe
our cover story and wants to stick their
nose in my business. (Impatient) Delenn,
how long do you think it will take to get
an answer from the Rangers?
I will get the answer soon.
I see. Your hair is -
Delenn's hair is feeling the effects of the heat.
I think the heat is causing me to have
what the humans call a "bad hair day."
G'Kar and Delenn laugh, the Minbari attendants decidedly less amused.
Those humans, they seem to have a clever
phrase for everything.
(laughs) One of my favorite Lt. Commander
Ivanova used to say. "Ah hell!" It is an
expletive in their English language, but
in Minbari it means "continuous fire." She
wasted many White Star energy blasts with
that phrase. Marcus told me that one.
Ah, Marcus. He made the ultimate sacrifice
in his love for Ivanova.
Yes, he did. Marcus is greatly missed by
the Rangers. And by me.
G'Kar suspiciously eyes the Narns approaching in the BG.
What could they want? I have one, "For
crying out loud!" Can you imagine? As you
know, for Narns it is taboo to cry out -
at least until my book was published it was.
Now it is almost a fashion among the young to
cry out - and to use that human phrase! Youth-
ful rebellion they say. Ah, times are changing
on my world, Delenn, old customs dying out.
And here I sit, trapped in the garb of a
religious leader, - I, a warrior by nature.
I beg your pardon?
Neroon was a great warrior of my people. He
only came to discover his religious calling
at the very end. A great man, who sacrificed
his life to save my people from the horrors
of civil war. You made me think of him.
My world feels on the edge of momentous
change. Tell me, Delenn, do you ever
regret your transformation?
I did what I did for a higher purpose. To
live peaceably with a race as warlike as
humans it helps to understand them. To
become more like them, well, you can't
get much better understanding than this.
(touches her hair)
Lennier emerges from the White Star.
Sensors have picked up several vessels
approaching from hyperspace - one with
a Centauri signature - We should return
to the White Star.
G'KAR POV as he steps into the sun and sees a large jump-point forming with the Centauri Imperial vessel emerging (CGI).

That's the Imperial Ship. I don't
We must get aboard the White Star -
there are other vessels -
N'TOTH, a highly decorated female warrior, accompanied by decorated guards, hurries to G'Kar, having run from the Narn military ship.
No time to explain - The Centauri
vessel is broadcasting a warning on
all channels -
A warning ? -
The Centauri Imperial vessel moves slowly away, broadcasting with a PA system, first in Centauri, then in Interlac (CGI).
That's Interlac. And the capitol
city is that way. . .
An attack is imminent! Take cover under-
ground! Destroy all incoming ships! An
attack is imminent! There is no time
A jump-point forms just behind the Centauri vessel and countless Drakh wardrones spill out, bunched together to fit through the jump-gate and not in a geometric formation as before. The Centauri vessel fires upon the drones, and they return fire (CGI).
In the name of Valen!
Delenn looks plaintively to G'Kar.
My place is here. Go!
ANGLE ON WHITE STAR as Delenn and the others quickly board.
ON N'TOTH as she and her soldiers use rifle-like blasters and shoot at the Drakh drones. Incoming bursts of fire hit the ground here and there as the Drakh drones begin to form into a pattern (CGI).
We picked up the Centauri vessel
in hyperspace -
A blast from a Drakh war drone hits nearby (CGI).
We believe it to be a Centauri attack!
We've come for you -
A Centauri attack!? Have you not eyes
to see? The Centauri vessel is attacking
those things, and they're firing on the
The White Star lifts off, already taking hits from the Drakh war drones. Narn planetary ground defenses, sparse though they are, begin to fire on the drones and on the Centauri vessel. A few Narns
nearby are killed by an incoming blast. The Drakh war drones are nearly formed up into a geometric swarm, and the invisible tele-pathic weapon is starting to engage. The Imperial vessel is un-
leashing everything it has to try to break up the geometric pattern of the Drakh wardrones (CGI).
Everyone take cover! G'Kar, come with us
to the destroyer! You must come now!
N'Toth attempts to take G'Kar by the arm to escort him to safety. He breaks free and begins to run. All are struck by the telepathic
attack, N'Toth falling to her knees and some of the other Narn disabled, but not all. G'Kar runs as fast as he can.
No! No! No!
G'Kar races into the archeological tunnel. CUT TO
INT. TUNNEL/MAIN CHAMBER/SECRET CHAMBER
G'Kar runs into the main chamber, past Narns crowding in for cover from the blasts, some feeling the effects of the telepathic attack.
G'Kar races through the main chamber and into the hidden corridor,
his head wracked with pain.
G'Kar emerges into the secret chamber, gasping for breath, with the mountain rattling all around him from the Drakh attackers, and rushes to the small glowing stone (about the size of a large pill).
He raises his arms, not knowing what to do.
Instinctively he grabs the glowing stone from its holder and swallows it. Instantly, he begins to glow with brilliant white light, as if seeping out from within, between his scales, eyes and mouth (CGI).
G'Kar runs with his arms raised defensively in front of him as the
tunnel begins to collapse and huge rocks fall, other Narns lying unconscious or dead, less than seen before as some already have left the tunnel. The mountain RUMBLES with the sound of the Vorlon device becoming activated. The white light protects him and he runs right through all obstacles, obliterating whatever rock material gets in his way until he is outside (CGI).
EXT. NARN ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE TUNNEL ENTRANCE
as he looks on in horror at the destruction taking place: Drakh wardrones attacking, White Star under heavy assault and fighting back, Narn fighter lifting off and being attacked, and the Centauri Imperial vessel about to blow up (CGI).
ANGLE ON TOP OF MOUNTAIN as the mountain shudders and
its top is vaporized as a massive white Vorlon sphere of pure energy emerges and ascends. The Drakh craft respond, the swarm breaking up, the telepathic attack stopped, with only weapons fire continuing (CGI).
INT. DELENN'S WHITE STAR
Delenn is in the captain's chair, Lennier at the controls. The viewscreen shows the many green blasts of firepower coming from the White Star (CGI).
Continuous fire! We must break up
EXT. NARN SURFACE
NEW ANGLE as the spinning and glowing Vorlon orb begins to extend tendrils of energy which destroy first a few, then ever increasing number of Drakh craft (CGI).
ON G'KAR as he stands with his arms outstretched, eyes and jaw clenched tight, his hands balled into fists as he screams a silent scream. He glows with brilliant white light (CGI).
ANGLE ON SKY as a crescendo of activity ensues, the Vorlon orb quickly destroys the last of the attacking drones then spins with a low HUM. The sky falls silent, save for the White Star and Narn fighters descending to land and the Centauri vessel cracking up high above (CGI).
XCLOSE ON G'KAR as he slowly opens one eye than the other, not believing what he is seeing.
G'KAR POV on the floating Vorlon orb, on the White Star and Narn fighter landing, and on the disintegrating Centauri vessel, with Drakh wardrone debris falling elsewhere (CGI).
G'Kar peers down to notice his own glow, and a growing number of Narns approaching and prostrating themselves (CGI).
(gasps) By J'Qan!
The White Star, damaged and blackened from battle, has landed and Delenn and Lennier run over to G'Kar. They both look skyward to the Centauri vessel.
It's too late, G'Kar.
A lifepod ejects from the Centauri vessel as its explosions and fires finally consume it in a huge ball of fire, imploding (CGI).
G'Kar concentrates intently, staring directly at the lifepod. The Vorlon orb extends a tentacle and envelopes the lifepod, protecting it from the explosion and gently bringing it to the ground (CGI).
I don't know.
ON CENTAURI LIFEPOD as G'Kar, Delenn, Narns, and Minbari rush to it. The Narns keep a respectful distance from G'Kar, some pros-trating themselves, which he notes. A window on the lifepod reveals an unconscious Londo. G'Kar rips the door off with his bare hands, revealing an injured, blackened Londo in full royal finery. Londo starts to come around, but spits up a little blood. The wounds from the Drakh keeper creature are still visible on his neck.
LONDO POV on the glowing G'Kar and the Vorlon orb in the sky above him, his vision blurry (CGI).
Great Maker?. . .G'Kar?
Londo falls unconscious again. G'Kar lets out a booming laugh.
Did you see, Delenn? He thought he
saw his supreme being, and it was me!
Yes, and it appears he's not ready
to handle that.
Delenn and G'Kar lean down over Londo as a Minbari doctor crowds in, with onlookers peering over, astonished at what they see.
You are alive Molari. Help is here.
Londo again becomes conscious and slowly opens his eyes as much as he can, Delenn gently stroking his face.
LONDO POV as he sees somewhat blurry images of Delenn, the Minbari doctor, G'Kar, and the crowd.
Delenn, is that you?
Yes, Londo. Don't speak. Lie still.
The Minbari doctor administers medication.
I feel all dreamy. (delirious) CONTINUED
I thought I saw G'Kar. Is Narn safe?
I came to warn you - I came to warn -
Let the Centauri die!
2ND NARN IN CROWD
Kill the Centauri!
G'Kar flares with anger, stepping back and clearing the crowd back several paces with his presence.
N'Toth! Have you learned nothing I have
taught you? He saved your life, twice now!
Have you forgotten? This Centauri - the
Centauri emperor himself - risked his life
to save you - to save all of us! You saw
with your own eyes what happened! Let the
truth of what has happened this day never be
forgotten! Hear me! I, G'Kar, last of the
original Kari, declare that on this day
Narn and Centauri will never make war again!
The Vorlon orb sends out a brief flare skyward, with sharp CRACKLE, as if to emphasize G'Kar's words (CGI). Minbari attendants arrive with a stretcher and take Londo to the White Star, with all the gathered Narn allowing respectful distance for him to pass. N'Toth, head bowed, appears chagrined.
(to Delenn) We have no one to help
We will care for him. We will take
him to Babylon Five. Oh,and by the
way, I think I shall tell the Rangers
you no longer need their protection
for your archaeological find. CROSSFADE
EXT. SPACE - BABYLON 5
Many warships, Minbari and others, are in evidence, as the station
is on heightened alert (CGI).
GIRABALDI is quickly walking through a heavily trafficked corridor peopled mostly with uniformed station personnel. Tessa joins him from a corridor junction.
What'd you find out?
A full-scale Drakh attack. wardrones of
some kind - capable of telepathic attack.
Evidently. Somehow the Narns repelled it.
Babylon Five's on full-alert, and I'm on
my way to C&C to get President Sheridan
and Captain Lochley so we can start the
meeting. Word has spread to the ambassadors,
and they're pushing to move up the council
meeting, they want answers. But this may be
what we need to gain their support. You find
My people on Narn aren't making any sense.
They say G'Kar became a god and repelled the
attack single-handedly. I don't know what to
make of it.
My reports don't read much differently.
We'll find out soon enough. Delenn is
bringing G'Kar here.
I've got to check on a couple of things,
then I'll see you in Captain Lochley's office.
Girabaldi departs down another junction, and TESSA continues on toward C&C.
There is much activity, reflecting the alert status. SHERIDAN pensively stares at the consoles as LOCHLEY approaches. LT. CORWIN
gives Lochley material to review.
No other attacks on any other Alliance
worlds have been reported. Just the
attack on Narn.
TESSA enters and joins them.
Whatever that was the Narns used against
the Drakh attack, it seems to have scattered
them and stopped all of their activity. Our
field agents have reported a Drakh fleet
departed from the Drazi sector, and another
from Centauri space, but no movement anywhere
else. They've gone quiet.
Hmmm, I don't like it. The attack on Narn
makes no sense. They're already so weakened
from past Centauri attacks. Why attack Narn?
A test-run for their new weapon?
Not much of a test. The Narn defense grid
is quite limited.
Or so we thought. Number One, Contact the
first wave of the Alliance expeditionary
force and have them hold position outside
of Vorlon space.
Hold position? With the defeat of the new
Drakh weapon, we might not get another
chance like this. They're off balance now,
sir. I think we should move them in now,
turn them into an assault force -
I think she's right. A chance like this
may not come again. The Drakh must be
reeling from their loss at Narn.
Maybe. (firmly) We have to wait.
Tessa and Lochley look to one another.
INT. LOCHLEY'S OFFICE
The mood electric as CAPTAIN LOCHLEY, GIRABALDI, NUMBER ONE, and ZACK ALLEN are seated around a low table in the semi-darkened room, watching an image of wreckage from the destroyed Earthforce des-troyers. Sheridan rises from Lochley's desk, shutting off the BabCom Unit, and joins them at the table. Zack waves his hand over the datacrystal playback unit and a small image of the previously
seen Shadow vessel being destroyed by the Vorlon ship appears (CGI/COMPOSITE).
That was Delenn. Whatever technology the
Narns used for defense, we'll see soon enough,
G'Kar is bringing it with him.
I can't believe that the First Ones would
allow the Shadows back into our galaxy.
They may not have the power to stop them.
And the Shadows may not be trying to come
back. It could be a nothing more than a diversion.
Well the Vorlons sure don't want them back here.
The image from the datacrystal has frozen on the Vorlon ship
destroying the Shadow vessel and now fades away (CGI/COMPOSITE).
My guess is the Shadows intentionally left
weapons assets behind for the Drakh, and not
just what they had to abandon at the end of
the Shadow War. Those signals could be making
weapons we don't even know about operable.
That's what it looks like to me.
It's a little after the fact, don't you think?
The Shadows have left the galaxy. It could be
that the Drakh have their own agenda, and the
Shadow activity is not related.
These are aliens who take the long view of
things. The Shadows are behind this, count on it.
Just playing the devil's advocate. Because if
they're not related, we risk going to battle
on two, even three fronts, depending on where
Psi-Corps comes down on all this.
We thought the Shadow war had ended when they
followed the First Ones out of the galaxy,
beyond the Rim, and quit interfering with the
younger races such as ours, but it's clear
now that their war did not end. Maybe the
Shadows never intended to honor their agree-
ment. I think we know where the Drakh base
is, and the focal point for out attack - what
we've planned so carefully for so long, will
happen there - the Vorlon system.
Sheridan points to a now frozen image of the Dead Zone in Vorlon space (CGI/COMPOSITE).
We need the ambassadors to commit their
ships to the second and third wave forces.
We need their full support, every ship we
But you've put the first wave of our assault
force on hold. The other ships the Alliance
has already committed for the second and third
wave forces won't hang around in hyperspace,
or have any other ships join them, if we look
like we're afraid to go forward.
It's not fear, Michael. But we need to wait.
I just don't know why.
Wait for what? Alliance forces are deployed.
If the Alliance doesn't gain some kind of
tangible victory over the Drakh, and soon,
the Alliance is going to start to come apart.
I don't thing we can expect what happened on
Narn to rally member worlds who are holding
out. We don't have conclusive proof that it
was the Drakh.
I agree, Mr. President.
And so do I, sir.
But we must wait. I won't bring the Excalibur
or the second and third wave ships out of
hyperspace until the time is right.
The time is right! The Charon and Praxis
found the Drakh base all right, and paid for
that with their lives. How much more certain
do you need to be?
Something is missing, Michael, but I don't
The others look to one another.
I know it sounds crazy, but I need you
to trust me. We cannot move our forces yet.
What about internal threats here?
As our reports noted, it's been very,
very quiet - unusually quiet.
I've been having security turn the station in-
side out for weeks, in anticipation of an attack,
but other than the usual contraband smuggled in
here, and the telepath rogues, nothing out of the ordinary. One of my men went missing at oh-eight-
hundred today, and we're investigating, but no
tangible leads on Drakh influence or sabotage
have turned up yet.
Which is part of the reason I'm worried. We
know they're here, or they have agents here.
They're waiting. If the attack on Narn wasn't
their sign to move, then what is?
What about Psi-Corps? Do they have the data-
crystal with the phony coordinates?
Yes, and it should finally force them to
come down on our side or against us.
We're knee-deep in tepes around here.
Have you been through the Zocalo?
Telepaths have been gathering on the station
for months. Some have come as refugees,
marooned off Earth when the plague hit, but
most have come like they're on some kind of
pilgrimage. So many rogues that Psi-Corps is
afraid to send any of their people anymore to
try to get them. If a Psi-Cop showed up here,
those rogues would fry their synapses.
And they're unwilling to help us this time,
against the Drakh. I don't understand it.
They feel they've been used enough. They're
focused solely on their own needs now -
freedom, and a home.
At least some of them should feel loyalty
to Earth and help out. The Psi-Corps may
align with the Drakh -
I have to believe even Bester wouldn't
sell out Earth.
With all due respect, Mr. President, this
is Bester you're talking about. I don't
think that black heart of his can feel
anything anymore. Don't count on him or
the Psi-Corps for anything.
Your personal hatred of Bester is noted
Mr. Girabaldi, for the trauma he inflicted
upon you in the past. And if Bester does
turn his back on Earth, you'll get your
chance to kill him for what he did to you.
I'll see to that.
My intelligence people tell me he's not
answerable any more to cooler heads back
on Earth, at Psi-Corps H-Q.
He did say something interesting at Earth-
station Eleven. He mentioned wanting to know
the coordinates those signals were sent to by
the Shadows, but then said "not for the
reason you might think."
What do you think he means?
I don't know, but it's puzzling. It's part
of what doesn't fit.
Zack's comlink BREEPS and he answers it.
SECURITY OFFICER (VO)
Chief, we've got some activity in
Can your people handle it?
SECURITY OFFICER (VO)
I think you should see this, sir.
On my way.
Reluctantly, Zack departs.
If Alliance forces strike where we think
the Drakh base is and we come up empty,
then what? Nearly all Alliance military
vessels will be several jump-points away
from here - and Babylon Five would seem to
be target number one.
Agreed. We'll be leaving the station
vulnerable when we form up the remainder
of the assault force, but when the time is
right, we've got to strike with everything
we've got and try to put an end to this war
for once and for all. We can't have Drakh
terrorists undoing all the hard work we've
done to create peace among the races.
"End the war." Let's face it, the war is
never over. It's the Drakh now, but it'll be
someone else later. There's always the filthy opportunist, the megalomaniac seeking personal
power, the war profiteer. It's a religious cam-
paign against perceived infidels this time, or
a landgrab at the edge of one species's planetary
system the next. I don't know if "the war" ever
It's been a while since I've been able
to share. . .
IVANOVA steps into view, and into the room, pulling back her cowl to reveal her face.
. . . in your joyful optimism, Mr.
Girabaldi. I'm so glad you could join
us from Mars.
Sheridan, surprised, and the others stand.
I should explain. Since you placed me in
command of Alliance Intelligence, I've
done some - recruiting.
After taking some time off to sort out my
head, I've been doing some deep cover fieldwork,
on the Alliance payroll. It seems Babylon Five
has a few problems a little closer to home.
Ivanova tosses a sealed bag holding the remains of the Drakh keeper creature on the table.
This is deep cover? (touches Ivanova's cloak)
You gotta do what you gotta do.
I've seen one of those before, on Mars.
Dr. Franklin dissected one for us during
the resistance movement, before independence.
It's what's left of what was controlling a
Drazi who tried to plant this near a vent
duct coming from the main reactor. I followed
him to Babylon Five from the Drazi homeworld.
The Drazi it was attached to was a high-
ranking minister traveling with a false
Tessa and Lochley look over the bag and disarmed explosive trigger Ivanova now places on the table.
That could've done some real damage.
That makes sense, using the diplomatic
corps as terrorists draws less suspicion.
Diplomatic immunity buys good access.
Is that the only explosive you found?
Yep, so far.
As much damage as that could've caused,
it's still small-time stuff, diversionary.
The station may be in more immediate danger.
CLOSE ON GIRABALDI as Sheridan's last WORDS FADE, and he REACTS to a voice in his head - but coolly controls his face so as to not reveal the message he's getting.
Hello, Michael. The time has come. I
hope you've brought my toys. A deal's a
deal, and it's time for you to make good
on your end of the bargain. Come outside
- I'll make sure you can find me. Oh, I
brought along an old friend you'll be
happy to see.
ON IVANOVA as we fade back into the conversation.
(to Girabaldi) You look like you've
seen a ghost.
Huh. Yeah. Listen, I just remembered
something I gotta do.
It can't wait.
Girabaldi stands to exit, stops.
One thing, something hasn't been right all
along about how the Drakh have waged their
terror campaign. Since I've taken over Edgar's Industries, I've learned a lot about managing
resources - Where, for example do the Drakh
get all of their resources? No one seems to
sell to them directly, and we can hardly track
their illicit buys. I know from my own military production, the hardware they roll out requires
a vast production base. Something is missing.
There have to be far more of them than we think,
or they've got races working for them that we've
never seen. No one ever seems to see the Drakh,
but somebody's selling them their raw materials, providing a manufacturing infrastructure. It
doesn't make sense that they never seem to run
out of weapons.
What's your point?
I'm just worried that we may be getting lured
into a trap. Maybe you're right to hold off
the attack for now.
Girabaldi lets them ponder the thought for a moment, then departs. Sheridan's comlink BREEPS and he toggles on.
Mr. President, Centauri Prime is requesting
a Gold Channel communication with you.
(to comlink) Centauri Prime? Londo's armada
isn't due for a couple of days. (to Lochley)
We should probably waive them off anyway,
given the situation. Wasn't it Vir Cotto who
wanted to see me?
One of my reports on the Narn homeworld
attack mentioned the Centauri Imperial
vessel as being present, and possibly
That makes no sense. Why would Londo
be there? Delenn didn't mention anything.
Sheridan follows Lochley's eyes, which are staring at VIR, looking positively manic, standing in the doorway, Station Security on either side of him, keeping him out.
(to comlink) C&C, tell Centauri Prime
I will contact the Prime Minister as
soon as I can. (toggles off) Vir, please,
Sheridan and the others stand as the guards let Vir enter.
President Sheridan, I have been trying
to see you for over two hours! Londo is in
trouble, and I need your help!
What is it, Vir?
What I tell you must remain in confidence.
He told me to tell only you, but I'll need
all of your help.
Tessa, Ivanova, and Lochley nod affirmatively.
Londo's fleet has been attacked. He's
the only one left alive.
The Centauri Imperial vessel travels
with ten ships -
Thirteen this time. Everyone is dead!
Londo is the only survivor.
Everyone dead? How?
I don't know. He's taken the Imperial
vessel - piloting it himself - He's in
danger! He said it was a telepathic attack
- hundreds, maybe thousands of small ships
he said! He thinks it was the Drakh, but the
strange part is, he said "they didn't mean
to attack." He seemed sure of it. And I've
heard the reports from Narn. They can't be
true. Can they?
Sheridan, Ivanova, Tessa, and Lochley REACT.
Vir, sit down.
Vir, there have been suspicions, and
some evidence, that the Drakh have
gained influence on Centauri Prime -
(sharply) Yes, I've heard that too. Nothing
has been right on my world since the Shadow
War. (angry) I don't know what's going on!
President Sheridan, all I do know is that
we need to help Londo.
I suspect Londo has protected you from
knowing the truth, Vir. Just as the Shadows
gained influence over your world during
the Shadow War, the Alliance believes the
Drakh filled the void once the Shadows left.
We don't know the extent of their influence,
but, frankly, we fear the worst. If Londo did
go to Narn, then clearly he has broken their
control. The Drakh have gained influence over
several Alliance worlds to varying degrees,
but they are masters at hiding themselves.
But what about Londo?
Vir, if we don't know where Londo is, what
can we do?
I had a report about a large field of
debris drifting off the hyperspace beacon
between rarely used jump-gates about two
hours ago. Two jumps from here.
High-level Centauri delegations often
use less-traveled jump-gates. (Gasps)
The other vessels must've been
destroyed! Why - ?
Sheridan narrows his gaze, another piece of the puzzle found.
We can investigate the scene of the
attack, that's the best we can do now.
If Londo did go to Narn, and the reports
are true, he may be dead. The reports
which identified the Imperial vessel
said it was destroyed.
He's not dead. I know it. He's alive. His
enemies can't know what has happened. He is
at risk now - I am at risk now! The Royal
Court will figure out soon enough what has
really happened, and heads will roll! I need
you to maintain the facade that everything is
all right, just for a while - to buy me some
time. Tell the Prime Minister you know of
nothing unusual. Please. If the Drakh are in-
fluencing the Palace, I can't trust anyone there.
If he's alive and can be found, the Alliance
will provide for his safety, and yours. If need
be, Londo will be given safe-haven here or on
Minbar. We'll do all we can, Vir.
It can't get any worse.
Vir gets up and starts to leave, tossing off a distracted. . .
The wall-mounted BabCom system sounds, Lochley toggles her comlink.
Incoming call from Delenn for President
Sheridan, private channel.
I'll be in C&C. (toggles off)
I'll go see what's going on in the Zocalo.
Lochley and Tessa depart, Ivanova and Sheridan briefly hold hands before she departs, then Sheridan walks over to the wall-mounted BabCom monitor where he pushes an on-screen button and DELENN pops up on-screen.
CLOSE ON SHERIDAN as he and Delenn look at each other for a moment and each touches the screen with an open hand.
How soon till you get here?
We're coming through the jump-gate in
a few minutes. John, Londo is with us.
I didn't think it safe to tell you before.
Londo is with you? Is he - ?
I think he'll be all right. The Drakh did
something to him. I don't know if it can
One of those creatures?
Delenn nods yes.
As we suspected. Has it started to
Not yet. He saved the Narns, John. It was
a beautiful, selfless act of heroism.
(wipes a tear) I can hardly believe I
Londo's alive. That will relieve Vir. We're
going to need many more acts of heroism before
this is over.
I know. What's wrong? I can see it in your face.
Mr. Girabaldi has given us something troubling
to think about. The Drakh may have more re-
sources than we estimated. And the loss of
their new weapon at Narn - they're certain to
change their strategy now. Do we go ahead as
planned with the assault or prepare for an
attack here? Offense or defense? Something is
missing - not letting me see the proper course
of action to take.
(a beat) There is something else, something
has happened to G'Kar, and what he's brought
will help us.
We'll take all the help we can get. I have
something else too. I've seen images of Kosh
in my mind. He's spoken to me, twice now.
At Earth-Station Eleven he told me to speak
his name and it let me get away from Bester -
And here on the station, I saw an image of
Kosh in docking bay thirteen. He said, "When
the three forces of light appear, speak my name."
Delenn ponders this.
What do you think it means?
LT. CORWIN looks astonished as he reads his console.
Captain Lochley, Delenn's White Star is
coming through the jump-gate, and something
else is too -
It's energy readings are right off the scale!
Lochley and the others look out to the jump-gate.

So where are my ships? You wouldn't

Girabaldi appears on her vessel's viewscreen.
A deal's a deal, Lyta. Plus I don't
particularly want to piss off the
only supertelepath I know.
Supertelepath. That's an impressive title.
Let's just say your reputation these
days precedes you. Adjust your scanners
to oh-oh-two-point-three, aft of your vessel.
Lyta telepathically makes the adjustment, her viewer DISSOLVES to an image of a fleet of vessels, all stealth, some transport, some well-armed in the near-distance (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Impressive. That should be enough. You've
done well. Now that I have a sight-line. . .
The fleet of stealth ships power-up (CGI).
Lyta senses something.
And what is this? You wouldn't, Michael -
On the viewscreen Girabaldi looks extremely nervous. Lyta hardens her gaze and her eyes flare white momentarily (CGI).
I've disabled the failsafes you placed
on the systems controls. I can't have you
disabling my ships now, can I? Any other
secrets you want to tell me about?
You wouldn't be you if you hadn't tried
something. Tell me honestly, is there
Nope, that's it. Look, Lyta, we don't
know what you're planning. Many people,
most non-telepaths, see you as a threat
- Your timing couldn't be worse. In case
you didn't know, the Drakh are waging
war on the Alliance -
Lyta raises a finger to silence Girabaldi, sensing something.
In fact, my timing couldn't be better.
(a beat) I hear my people on Babylon Five.
Their minds are singing.
Lyta seems to have an awareness extending beyond the vessel, then flinches as she senses something else.
And something else. The Vorlons. It can't be. CUT TO
EXT. BABYLON FIVE
The Vorlon orb, about a tenth the size of the station, moves into a position near, but not too close, to the station (CGI).
Telepaths are standing and looking upward, sensing the Vorlon mech-anism outside the station. ZACK and IVANOVA watch them.
INT. GIRABALDI VESSEL
Girabaldi looks at Lyta's strange behavior on his viewscreen.
What is it?
Lyta lowers her gaze, her eyes now glowing white (CGI).
Something very unexpected.
Lyta's eyes go back to normal (CGI).
There's someone here you'll want to see.
Lyta turns her head, and we see DR. FRANKLIN, who grabs his throat now that Lyta has released him to speak and move.
Stephen! Lyta, what about the plague?!
It's been taken care of. For him anyway.
(looks up) Uh-oh, we have company.
EXT. SPACE/SECTOR 14
A Starfury DROPS INTO FRAME joining the two identical stealth vessels, just feet from the other two craft (CGI).
INT. SHERIDAN'S STARFURY
Angry, SHERIDAN toggles on his communication switch.
Would someone like to tell me what
the hell is going on?!
(sighs) Well, Mr. President, it's -
This is about Bester, isn't it?
Dammit Michael! You may have jeopardized
our whole mission against the Drakh through
this "arrangement" with Lyta. Don't think I
didn't suspect. I knew you'd stop at nothing
to have your revenge against him for what he did
to you, but can't you see how you've comp-
romised the entire Alliance? We cannot trust
Lyta anymore. Her agenda is her own, and while
the problems of telepaths may be legitimate, we
need all available resources right now to fight
the Drakh, and to save Earth. We need those
ships you're giving to her!
President Sheridan, I think you'll find
that now that the hour of my people's
liberation is at hand, our interests and
yours mesh very nicely. Mr. Girabaldi will
have his opportunity for revenge against Bester.
The Alliance plans to strike the Drakh's new
homeworld in the Vorlon sector - yes, that's
where it is. And I have found the homeworld for
telepaths, and, wouldn't you know it, it's the
John, she can cure the Drakh plague!
Stephen! Stephen, is that really you?
She knows where the antidote can be found
and replicated. She's shown it to me
(points to his head).
This has been a touching reunion, gentlemen,
but there is much work to be done.
Lyta's vessel breaks away and heads fast toward Babylon 5. Her fleet of empty vessels follow in formation (CGI).
Lyta! You are not permitted entry onto
Babylon Five. Do not enter the station.
With all due respect, Mr. President, you
can't keep me out. My people are there, and
I intend to take them. You can't stop me, so
please don't try. Tell Captain Lochley and
the others not to interfere and I won't
Sheridan's and Girabaldi's ships follow Lyta's to Babylon 5 (CGI).
I don't see how we can stop you, Lyta.
Please keep your word. Michael, I want to
see you the second we're back on-board.
Sheridan angrily punches a button on his control console.
Sheridan's vessel kicks in the afterburners, and Girabaldi's vessel follows, hanging back a bit (CGI).
EXT. BABYLON 5
Lyta's vessel makes near pass next to the Vorlon object (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Lyta looks out her viewscreen, enraptured by what she sees, she smiles back to Dr Franklin.
INT. DOCKING BAY
Heavy security keeps all others out as LOCHLEY, IVANOVA, VIR and TESSA greet DELENN, LONDO, G'KAR, N'TOTH, and LENNIER as the latter disembark the White Star. LONDO seems groggy, and walks with the help of Lennier and G'KAR. G'Kar still glows white (CGI). Medical personnel attend to Londo as SHERIDAN and GIRABALDI enter, Sheridan
still wearing his flight suit. Sheridan and Delenn embrace. Londo is escorted out by Vir, security, and medical personnel in the BG.
It's good to see you.
It's good to see you.
Sheridan stiffens at seeing Lennier, who avoids Sheridan's gaze and who's whole body seems to bear the weight of his guilt.
We have a new problem. Lyta's here and
Mr. Girabaldi's outfitted her with a
fleet of ships.
She's already on the station. Accessed
docking controls and security overrides.
Took over eight docking bays for her ships.
There was nothing we could do.
Delenn, Girabaldi and Sheridan look to one another.
LYTA walks through the Zocalo surrounded by tens, then hundreds of TELEPATHS who silently follow her, many wanting to touch her - she looks like a protective mother leading her flock. She looks upward
as if able to see the Vorlon object through the hull.
ANGLE ON ZACK as he watches from a side-corridor entrance.
Lyta senses him, and turns to him, offering understanding eyes and a warm heart. Zack smiles, acknowledged at last. Lyta walks on.
INT. MEDLAB ONE
DR. FRANKLIN, now wearing a medical robe, is looking over LONDO, who lies prone on a medical table, attendants busily cutting away his clothing and administering tests. VIR stands by anxiously.
Londo keeps his eyes closed from the glare of the lights.
There doesn't seem to be any re-growth
from the Drakh creature out of your own
This is good, yes?
There is still alien neural tissue in your
body, fused with your own, but it seems
dormant. From what we know of these
creatures, it should've started to re-
grow immediately. Something is keeping
it from rejuvenating.
Using medical implements, Dr. Franklin removes some of the alien neural tissue from a wound near Londo's neck, and places it in a sterile beaker. Londo opens his eyes, adjusting them to the light.
So I am not free from that monster
That's not what I'm saying. It's dormant,
and may stay that way. And it may not. I
just don't know.
Doctor, I do not wish to live another
day with that thing inside of me. Cut it
out, all of it!
Londo, it's attached to numerous places
throughout your entire nervous system.
To remove it would be to kill you.
Attendants cover Londo's body with a sheet. A Centauri attendant brings Vir a stack of Londo's old clothes. Through the glass can be seen several station security personnel standing guard. VIR dis-misses the Centauri attendant.
Perhaps that is best.
Londo! What are you saying?
A medical staffer outfits Londo with a thick robe as he sits up.
I don't wish to go on living as a slave
to the Drakh any longer. After what has
happened, they will wish me dead anyway.
Vir, you must do everything you can to
erase the Drakh presence on our world!
They put explosives in major population
centers, threatened to destroy millions
upon millions of Centauri to exact our -
my - cooperation. I gave in to their de-
mands, Vir! It was the Drakh who tricked
the Alliance into attacking Centauri Prime.
The Regent was not to blame. It was the
Drakh who caused our world to burn!
Londo grabs Vir, standing close, by the lapel, pulling him close.
Dr. Franklin motions for the other medlab personnel to leave.
The Imperial armada was laden with weapons
of mass destruction. I found this out after
we were attacked and the Drakh (spitting out
the words) - my personal puppetmaster - was
killed. I destroyed our other ships. I
believe they planned to use our ships and
those weapons to destroy Babylon Five. The
state visit was merely a pretext to get close.
Which means they meant to kill you, to
kill all of us.
Perhaps. They may have intended to remove
me safely first. I had been useful to them.
Which would mean they have agents here.
They have agents everywhere.
Dr. Franklin is disturbed by this idea and looks out the glass to the security and medical personnel at work.
NEW ANGLE as LYTA enters the medlab, alone, but followed at a distance by a few security officers, who wait outside as she
enters the room with Londo.
I couldn't help overhearing. There
are Drakh here - three - but I will
deal with them.
Lyta? Lyta Alexander?
Hello, Londo. Vir. (to Dr. Franklin)
Don't get too involved here. We'll
be leaving before too long.
Lyta senses something about Londo and stands near him, looking him up and down, creating a little fear in him and the others.
They put one of those things on you,
Lyta's eyes flare white as she focuses her gaze on Londo, he flinches flat on his back from the pain (CGI).
Lyta's eyes return to normal and Londo's pain passes.
I'm sorry about that. There's no way
to make it not hurt. It won't grow
back now. (to Dr. Franklin) Be ready
when I call for you.
Lyta departs, leaving the others agape. CROSSFADE
In the darkest, most remote region of the trash-strewn down-below,
Lyta forthrightly makes her way through the semi-darkness, until
she reaches an almost completely dark dead-end.
NEW ANGLE as LYTA stands in silhouette, with what little light there is behind her, illuminating her figure.
RUSTLING NOISES can be heard. Lyta's eyes flare white for an instant against the darkness, as if a challenge (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as a lone DRAKH steps forward, out of the darkness. He
opens his cowl and pulls off several scale-like, palm-size buds from his grey body. The scales sprout legs and aggressively make
their way toward Lyta. As each creature gets to about two feet from her, they are zapped by an invisible forcefield which flares white
briefly as it kills all of the creatures that touch it (CGI).
You cannot harm me. My people even now
are undoing your sabotage. You failed at
Narn, and you'll fail here. Take a look.
MOVE CLOSE RAPIDLY ON LYTA'S EYES
INT. CORRIDOR/INDUSTRIAL SECTION/REACTOR AREA
Telepaths point out hidden bombs to Babylon Five security.
Security pull a bomb out of a wall vent.
ZACK watches as telepaths show the location of large hidden explosives, and stand over the dead bodies of the two security men seen earlier, dead Drakh keeper creatures still smoldering nearby.
Security personnel locate more explosives, watched by telepaths.
Lyta faces off with the lone Drakh.
The others, show yourselves.
Two more Drakh step out of the darkness.
DRAKH IN DOWN-BELOW
You cannot stop us. In the name of our
masters, we will rule this galaxy. The
last vestiges of the Vorlons will be
destroyed, including you.
The Vorlons have out-thought your masters,
the Shadows. The Vorlons are ready for
you. Those now outside the station, and
those inside of me.
Lyta's eyes flare white, and streams of white light emanate from her eyes and mouth as she raises here arms, her hands also glowing as white orbs. The tendrils of white light surround and envelope
all the Drakh, killing them. The light fades, and Lyta turns on
her heel and is gone (CGI).
INT. LOCHLEY'S OFFICE
LONDO sits on the couch, dressed in fresh clothes from his ambas-sadorial days, holding a cool cloth on his forehead as he leans back with his eyes closed, VIR next to him. DELENN and SHERIDAN confer at the desk.
The Royal Palace is in a state of frenzy
over your disappearance. News of what
happened on Narn is spreading throughout
the galaxy. Nobody on Centauri Prime
believes it, of course. House Anterres
sent vessels which found what was left of
the Imperial fleet - They're saying it was
a Narn attack.
Narn attack! They don't have any ships
anymore capable of such an attack!
Anterres is an ambitious house, but a
stupid one. What did you tell the Palace?
I've told everyone the same story, that
you're missing. But it won't be long before
they know you're here. The one who brought
the clothes is my most trusted aide. He won't
say anything. A Centauri military fleet is
on its way here now.
Yes, and I can imagine what accompanies
them. But, I won't be staying. They may be
coming for your head. You will need to
protect yourself. I made it a condition of
my cooperation that the Drakh not harm you.
The Drakh wanted to kill you. They thought
you weak. But it is your kindness of heart,
and quite frankly your naivete, which has
saved you up to now. Your goodness gave me
hope, hope for a better future for our people.
It was foretold that you would rule after me,
and I do not want you corrupted by the Drakh.
I must now ask you to do some terrible things.
I will tell you the names of all the Drakh
collaborators I know of, and I need you to
have them all killed. I am not in a position
right now to take care of it.
What are you talking about? I don't
have those kind of resources.
I do. Come closer.
Londo whispers in Vir's ear.
See him. Tell him what I told you, exactly
as I told you, and he will do the rest.
Just give him the list of names. I cannot
What do you mean? Where can you go?
Sheridan and Delenn break off their private talk at the desk.
Well, President Sheridan, will you allow
me to join your campaign against the Drakh
or not? Your forces are ready to move, yes?
Londo, emperor Molari, we know the Drakh
have gained influence on your world -
And I saw that creature around your neck
once when you came to visit us on Minbar -
It's called a "keeper." Quaint little name
for such a monster, don't you think? Lyta
Alexander was kind enough to burn the rest
of it out of me, but I suppose you heard
What we're trying to say is that we under-
stand that your first priority must be to
your people, and if the Drakh still hold
sway over your world, you would do better
not to associate -
Our campaign against the Drakh may not
be successful -
Oh, why don't you just say it, you don't
trust me. Even after what I did on Narn.
What you did on Narn was truly heroic.
We're just afraid that you will do yourself
and your people more harm than good if you
join us in the fight. Eventually you will
have to return to Centauri Prime, and if the
Drakh cannot be rooted out there -
Yes, what then becomes of Londo? I am willing
to take that risk. The life I have under
their control is no life at all. I accept my
fate. The Drakh must be cleansed from my world.
Please, let me fight.
If you join us, we can't ensure your safety.
The least of my worries. The main assault
force should get underway as soon as
possible, don't you think Mr. President?
That depends on the Council. Then there's
the matter of Lyta Alexander's demand to
address the Alliance.
No, it doesn't seem to be a good idea to
turn down a person with her powers, and her
followers. She did, after all, do a great
deal for the Alliance in the Shadow War.
Londo stands, a little woozy. Delenn comes over.
Are you all right?
I am fine. Where is G'Kar? I think I would
like to see him now. I was unconscious on
our trip from Narn.
He's on the observation deck.
There is an armed escort waiting outside
to keep you protected, they'll take you.
Vir hands Londo a cloak, which he refuses.
No, Vir. No more hiding. Let them see me.
Thank you, President Sheridan, Delenn,
Vir, for everything.
Londo and Vir exit as IVANOVA, GIRABALDI and TESSA enter.
Captain Lochley's got the station but-
toned up tight. The Minbari heavy cruisers
are in position, and the Excalibur is en
route from the hyperspace holding area.
All of the ships I'm providing are ready.
Oh, and Lyta's beginning to board her
people on her ships.
Sheridan stiffens at this.
Zack's people have been scouring the
station top-to-bottom, but haven't found
anymore explosives. Lyta's people were
very thorough, they pinpointed every bomb
and every human and alien under Drakh control.
Twenty-one people in all. The two in security,
and one dead security officer, killed earlier.
Lyta once again helped us in our hour of need.
Sheridan, pensive, looks at Girabaldi.
I don't like it. Lyta Alexander shows up
and now it feels like it's her war, and
we're going to fight it her way.
INT. OBSERVATION DECK
G'KAR, looking normal (no longer glowing), stands alone, mesmerized by the white glow spilling in from outside the windows as he looks at the Vorlon device. TALON approaches.
Talon looks back to the entrance, and G'Kar turns and sees Lyta standing alone.
Please, join me Lyta.
Talon departs as Lyta walks over and stands next to G'Kar.
G'Kar shows her the glowing stone control mechanism, which he had been holding in his fist (CGI).
That is for you, you know. Only for the
Narn. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't
What makes a Vorlon, makes that. But
only a Narn telepath should've been able
to control it, and, well, there aren't
anymore Narn telepaths. How did you do it?
I swallowed this. I can only guess that
either it read my thoughts through my
tissues or since I did the narcotic "dust"
once and had a limited telepathic response
the drug induces that somehow it could hear
my thoughts. I coughed up this control
mechanism just minutes ago. I was -
Glowing. What are you going to do with it?
In a more innocent time, yesterday as a
matter-of-fact, I intended that it be used
as an energy source to help rebuild my world.
But, in light of the attack by the Drakh, it
seems I have no choice but to use it as a
weapon. "An end in fire, or a beginning in
light" it said. It seems it is to be an end
Lyta moves close to the window.
I can hear its song. Would you like to hear?
Lyta stretches out here hand and G'Kar comes over and takes her hand, now able to hear what she hears and astonished by it.
The light is coming G'Kar. And you've
brought part of it with you. We are all
going to be free of the darkness very soon.
But not all of us will be coming back.
Lyta lets go of his hand, G'Kar heavy with her words. SHERIDAN enters, not expecting to find Lyta.
Mr. President. I was just going.
Please, stay a moment.
Lyta senses something about Sheridan.
SHERIDAN REACTS, G'Kar looks on, quizzically.
Part of Kosh is still inside you.
Lyta moves closer.
(Pleading) Please may I see him?
I don't understand -
Of all the Vorlons, Kosh cared about
me the most. I would just like to look
upon him one last time.
Sheridan's face tells Lyta yes.
LYTA'S POV as CAMERA MOVES IN to Sheridan's eye and into his mind.
A field of gentle white light as we MOVE IN toward a glowing figure rising, an amorphous humanoid figure with rays of colored light radiating from him (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as Lyta floats forward in the field of white light, toward KOSH, a creature of light (CGI).
CLOSE ON LYTA as Kosh gently strokes her cheek (CGI).
Lyta snaps back to the here and now, wipes tears, and turns to go.
I do have a couple of questions I'd
like you to answer while you're here.
Will you release Dr. Franklin to us?
I need him. You want the cure to the
Drakh plague, and only I can give it
to you. And I will give it to only him.
His participation ensures your cooperation.
I'm sure you know that the Alliance
is ready to launch an assault on what
we believe to be the main Drakh base-
What you've been waiting for is now
here. (points to glowing Vorlon object)
Kosh told you to look for the forces
of light. This is one. You'll find
the other two when we get to Vorlon
space. You know what to do, and so do I.
I'm beginning to feel as though a
pawn in a much larger game.
That makes two of us.
She has evolved into something much
more than we are. I shall miss her
when she is gone.
INT. MEDLAB ONE
DR. FRANKLIN is having his blood drawn. The technician finishes and Dr. Franklin rises and goes over to the console to look at the graphic of the data.
See if you can isolate the cause of the
breakdown of the viral particles. The
disruption which disabled the virus is
likely not chemical in nature, but do full
spectrum analyses - look for anything and
everything! Copy the data to my office at
the Zenobiology lab on Earth. Copy it to Dr.
Fermat there! And run the tissue samples
through every test. Everything!
It's almost time to go, Stephen. Meet me
in the council chambers in one hour. We'll
leave from there.
ON FRANKLIN'S REACTION. CUT TO
INT. OBSERVATION DECK
TALON allows LONDO to enter, and he approaches G'KAR.
Hello G'Kar.(A beat) Why do you
not turn around to see me?
Because I fear I should burst into
tears at the sight of you now that
the full weight of what you've done
has had time to sink in, Molari.
Well. . . I shall just stand here next
to you then, for a while, and look at
this beautiful thing of yours. There is
considerably less glare upon seeing you
here than on Narn.
G'Kar shows Londo the glowing stone, then CLOSE TWO SHOT as we see their two faces, with a gentle tear rolling down G'Kar's face as they both look at what is outside.
Millions of my people died because of
you, Molari. Yet, today you saved my world.
It is simply too much to comprehend.
Yes. I no longer try to make sense of my
own life. The fates seem to enjoy tossing
me about in the perpetual whirlwind, and all
I can do is try to keep my balance.
G'Kar abruptly turns to face Londo, grabbing him by his shoulders.
That's where you're wrong, Molari! You are
responsible for every one of your actions.
The lives you saved today do not make up for
the lives you took in the past! But you did
the right thing today. Your actions have opened
the way for a new beginning for our peoples. It
is so clear to me now. After so much war, the
time has come for us to lift the veil of darkness
which has enveloped the Narn and Centauri for so
long. Narn children, Centauri children deserve
better than to be indoctrinated into our cycle
of hate. On this day, I pledge myself to you.
So long as you live, I will protect you. I will
become your personal warrior. I will provide you
Narn soldiers to find and kill the Drakh which
have taken over your world.
I had hoped to restore Centauri glory. And
instead I set our people back decades. You're
right, the children, Centauri and Narn, deserve
better than what we have created - a conflict
without end. I will tell Vir of your offer of
soldiers. He will be handling the problem of
the Drakh on Centauri Prime. Thank you, G'Kar.
It will be time to go soon, G'Kar.I do
hope you will be bringing that with us.
Of course, Molari.
Londo heads out, with a respectful glance at G'Kar as he departs.
LONDO walks with four security officers as suddenly SOUND FADES, and a white mist fills the area, his guards obscured then gone.
What is this?
In the air appears another glowing amber technomage symbol, this one life-size, right in front him. LONDO REACTS (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as the technomage he once quarrelled with while ambas-sador on Babylon 5 (refer to TV series) steps out of the symbol, facing him. Londo seems afraid (CGI).
You have done the impossible, Londo Molari.
You have proven me wrong to my peers.
You are the technomage I met here on Babylon
Five years ago. Have you come to cast new
magic spells, add new torments to my existence?
How have I wronged you this time?
(laughs) Not anything of the sort, Molari.
I put the symbol of fate before you earlier -
I remember. On the bridge of the Imperial
vessel - I thought I was seeing things.
At that moment you were struggling. What to
do? The right thing, the noble thing, or to
cave into your weakness and do what you've
always done - put your own survival first. You
have always worn power carelessly, Molari,
harming the innocent who through no fault of
their own brushed against the fabric of your
power, and were crushed by it. I challenged
you to prove me wrong in that moment, and you
did! It took the dark hearts of Drakh to shed
light on your soul.
I don't understand. What do you want of me?
I wish to give you a gift.
The Technomage draws a symbol in the air (CGI).
When you return to Centauri Prime, this
symbol will appear to you. When it does,
touch it, and it will show you the dark
places the Drakh hide on your world. Even
after the night of long knives your are
about to unleash is through, there will be
Drakh who escape you. They have survived the
aeons through their cunning and stealth, and
I now give you the chance to drive them away
and free your world again.
The glowing symbol slowly fades, as does the Technomage (CGI), his
VOICE TRAILING OFF as he fades away.
We who watch from beyond the Rim are
very impressed with the change in you.
There may be hope for your soul. CUT TO
The harsh lights and SOUNDS are back, Londo standing in the midst of the security guards, who look at him wondering what he is doing. Londo straightens his back and walks on, electrified and a bit buffeted by all that has happened.
INT. ZACK ALLEN'S QUARTERS
CAMERA TRUCKS OVER to the bed in the bedroom, where in the semi-darkness ZACK is making love to LYTA. Zack brings Lyta to climax and they rest, Lyta on top, her head turned to the side - eyes dimly glowing white. Her eyes fade back to normal (CGI).
I didn't think that was possible. It's
because you love me.
Zack becomes a little uncomfortable.
No, don't become self-conscious. I thank
you for loving me, Zack. There is not much
of me left that is human, and you've made me
feel that part of me again, for the last time.
Don't say that. I've loved you since I first
saw you. I've longed to hold you until my heart
hurt so much I thought I couldn't take it.
They embrace, Lyta soaking up Zack's simple, pure love.
Zack, you're sweet. (a beat) I'm going away
and I'm not coming back.
Zack rolls over, upset.
I wanted to give you something special,
something to remember me by. I will be
remembered for what I've done by many, but
you may be the only one who will remember me
for who I am, who I was. (kisses him) Sleep now.
Zack closes his eyes and goes to sleep from Lyta's telepathic command. She gently kisses him on the forehead then gets up from
the bed as we
INT. COUNCIL CHAMBERS
SHERIDAN, DELENN, G'KAR, LONDO, GIRABALDI, IVANOVA, LOCHLEY, LENNIER, TESSA, TALON, VIR, DR. FRANKLIN, and representatives from many of the Alliance races are seated,at their respective desks or standing and talking nearby, creating a din of NOISE.
(to Lochley) Has anybody seen Zack?
Let's bring the meeting to order. Please,
take your seats. The Alliance War Council
will come to order.
LYTA abruptly enters just as everyone gets settled in, and stands in front of the dais to address the assembly.
The Drakh threat to your people, to your
worlds, to this galaxy, is greater than
you could have imagined. Some of you cooperate
with the Drakh already, being too weak or fear-
ful to fight them. The Vorlon device unearthed
at Narn and now outside this station, destroyed
their newest weapon, a weapon which used en-
slaved telepaths' amplified mental powers to
kill. Discovery of the Vorlon device on Narn
was an unexpected development. The Drakh did not
foresee it, and, frankly, neither did I. Emperor
Molari foiled the Drakh's plans to destroy Babylon
Five using the pretext of an Imperial visit to get Centauri vessels laden with explosives close
enough to destroy this station and kill everyone
on it. Events have turned in our favor. The Vorlon
device will help in the fight to come. Telepaths,
who have been bred and manipulated by both the
forces of light and the forces of darkness, and
every one of your races, to be used as weapons,
will be the ones who finally put a stop to the
Shadow Wars. We will be used no more. But we
will lead you to their base. We will show you
the weaknesses in their defenses. We will help
you prevent the return of the Shadows -
The room erupts at the last statement.
Return of the Shadows!?
They intended to return all along! Go to
this place! -
Lyta sends a telepathic image to the minds of everyone present, her eyes flaring white for an instant, which quiets the uproar. She waves her arm and an image appears of the Vorlon planetary system,
which quickly moves in to a moon surrounded by a grid-like struc-ture, then fades (CGI/COMPOSITE).
The Drakh have bred and made slaves of us!
Telepath slaves have built the Shadow and
Drakh forces arrayed against you. In return
for our help the Alliance will help my forces
free these slaves. My people will be waiting
for you there. In addition, we demand the
freedom of all telepaths from every race. Any
telepath born to any of your people must be
free from genetic manipulation, free from
indentured servitude, free to leave and join
us on the new telepath homeworld. Make your
decision quickly. Agree to our terms we will
not only help you keep the Shadows from re-
turning, but we will help you find and destroy
the Drakh where they hide. And we will provide
the cure to the Drakh plague affecting Earth,
and which is a threat to other Alliance worlds.
If you do not agree, we will clear the Drakh
from our new home in Vorlon space - but you
will be on your own against the Drakh in the
rest of the galaxy. When your forces join ours,
I will know your answer, and we will respond
accordingly. Your self-interest now coincides
with the best interests of telepaths. Now is
not the time for debate, but for action.
Lyta departs, Dr. Franklin following her out. Lennier quickly follows them as Sheridan and Delenn arise from the dias and attempt to quiet the crowd.
Ambassadors! Delegates, please. Please. CUT TO
INT. CORRIDOR BY COUNCIL CHAMBER
LYTA and DR. FRANKLIN enter the corridor, past several guards, LENNIER rushes to catch up to them. Lyta senses this, turns around.
I've not yet asked -
We can use you. We'll need all the good
pilots we can get. You will fly my vessel.
I will need to focus my attention elsewhere.
INT. COUNCIL CHAMBERS
Many are standing as the back-and-forth debate rages.
It is a trick! The telepaths and you
seek to compel us to leave our home-
You know that's not true. Your worlds are
vulnerable now! Some Alliance worlds are
PAK MARAH AMBASSADOR
The risk is too great. Not all of us
agree that we must launch an assault.
This has been a Minbari-led plan from
the start! With Earth weakened and possibly
doomed, and the Narn and Centauri all but
ON G'KAR as he rises and takes the floor.
You would let fear be your guide! Do not
shrink from the task which is before us!
We know the enemy! We now know where the
enemy is. She showed it to all of us, and
each of us know it is not a lie, there is
no trick. There is merely the task at hand.
We must risk everything so that we might
survive. If the Shadows do return, we could
all be wiped out. There are not the Vorlons
to help us this time. And if we do not con-
front the Drakh, they will. . . .
surely suck the life out of our worlds one
by one as they enslave us. Lyta and the tele-
paths are about to risk all of their lives so
they might at last be free. Can we do any less!?
Are we free if we are manipulated by outsiders
on our own worlds? Are we free if we are para-
lyzed by fear? Are we free if we cannot break
out of the endless cycle of violence? This
alliance was born to promote cooperation and
the pursuit of mutual interest. What could be
more in our mutual interest than our very sur-
vival? None of us alone can defeat the Drakh,
let alone the Shadows, but together, by uniting
our forces we have a fighting chance! It is not
just a question of strategy and tactics, and
weighing military assets, but of honor! Do we
have pride? Do we as a body have honor? What do
we stand for? Will we fight for freedom!?
G'Kar and Delenn exchange a knowing glance.
It is our notion of civilization which compels
us to work together toward common goals which
ensure our survival and prosperity through
mutual effort. The dark forces of totalitar-
ianism and fascist rule arise again and again,
but we can - together - quash it in our time.
We know what we must do. Most of you committed
ships to the second wave of an expeditionary
force to find the Drakh, but you must now agree
to turn this force into an assault force! And
the ships you are holding in reserve must be
made available to the Alliance. We have an able
and proven leader (motions to Sheridan) - it was
Sheridan who defeated the Shadows in the Shadow
War. And if two centuries-old enemies can stand
together, you can stand with us.
Londo rises and joins G'Kar, joining hands as they raise them up.
We must stand together! And we must act now!
The room erupts in a chorus of support, Sheridan looks extremely pleased.
EXT. BABYLON 5
We see a huge armada of ships, Minbari heavy cruisers, One or two Narn, Drazi, Brukuri, Centauri, Pak Marah, Ranger White stars, a
couple of Earth Force ships, a fleet of stealth Edgars Industries
craft - wave after wave entering the jump-gate (CGI).
SHERIDAN stands with DELENN, LOCHLEY, NUMBER ONE, and GIRABALDI as they look at the second wave vessels departing.
All sentry ships guarding the jump-gates
to Vorlon space have reported in. All clear,
sir. No sign of Drakh defenses.
They're probably holding them in reserve.
Very well, tell the third wave ships to get
Jump-point forming, it's the Excalibur.
EXT. SPACE / BABYLON 5
The large, sleek Excalibur emerges from a jump-point (CGI).
ON SHERIDAN as he confidently smiles at the sight of the ship.
You ready Susan?
INT. WHITE STAR 100
IVANOVA sits in the captain's chair of the newest model White Star.
White Star One-hundred ready, all second
wave ships formed up and departing staging
area. Oh, and thanks for the assignment,
I can't think of anyone more qualified.
Thank you, sir. (to Minbari navigator)
(In Minbari) Take us away.
See ya on the flip-side.
You can count on it, Girabaldi.
White Star 100 emerges from the jump-gate into hyperspace, and pulls ahead to take point, leading a squad of White Stars, followed by Minbari heavy cruisers, and the other ships (CGI).
Sheridan, Delenn and Girabaldi prepare to leave.
Keep her safe.
Same goes for the two of you. Your
shuttle is ready to take you to the
Excalibur. G'Kar and Londo are wait-
ing for you at the docking bay.
Are you really going to let Londo
pilot his own ship?
It's what he wants. Vir kept a Centauri
fighter hidden not far from the station
for emergencies. (to Lochley and Number One)
The fleet will be in constant contact with
our progress. We'll join the third wave
ships in hyperspace at the rendezvous point.
If an attack does come here, or things
should go badly -
I know, attempt to contact Draal on Epsilon
Three below for help. Will do. Good luck.
Primary power is routed to the defense
grid, and all remaining fighters are deployed.
We'll be all right. Good luck.
EXT. BABYLON FIVE
A shuttle heads from the station, past the Vorlon orb, to the waiting Excalibur, which gets a BEAUTY SHOT as the shuttle approaches, passing the Centauri fighter now powering up (CGI).
SHERIDAN, and DELENN enter the bridge.
Navigator, take us away.
EXT. BABYLON 5
The Excalibur moves toward the jump-gate, which is now opening, followed by a Centauri fighter and the Vorlon orb (CGI).
The Excalibur, Centauri fighter, and the Vorlon orb scream past, and up ahead can be seen a huge fleet of Alliance ships of all alien varieties, many still jumping in (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
LYTA and DR. FRANKLIN watch as on the viewscreen can be seen normal space appearing as they make the jump from hyperspace, into a near-ly starless realm. LENNIER is at the controls. A TONE begins to sound (CGI).
Sensors picking something up.
EXT. SPACE THE DEAD ZONE
Bester's damaged ship slowly spins, with bits of debris from the damage floating nearby. Ltya's vessel leaves her armada behind
and approaches Bester's ship (CGI).
INT. BESTER'S SHIP
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Lyta is crouched, dabbing BESTER'S injured head with a cloth. Dr. Franklin is administering to him, which Bester reluctantly allows.
Thank you for rescuing me, Lyta.
You're lucky to be alive. You told them no.
Lyta, their plans are darker than any of
us could have imagined. I have seen -
You have seen what I alone have seen and
carried with me for so long! Now you know
the horror of what I know.
They must be stopped, Lyta! How could this
have happened? That feeling all telepaths
have that there are more like us somewhere
- that music we hear like waves crashing on
a distant shore. How could it be so terrible,
What did you see?
Lyta stands back, her eyes glowing white, with small streams of white light swirling about her briefly as she speaks (CGI).
LYTA (In Vorlon voice/VO)
Life is the most precious thing. The dark
forces use life as a tool to achieve power
and control. They do not respect life. . .
Lyta's eyes and voice return to normal as she speaks (CGI).

what the Drakh plans really are. They intended
to kill us all, once they'd finished using us.
(a beat) Our forces are at your disposal.
Just like that, you're going to help?
You'll understand why soon enough.
Lyta is satisfied, Bester goes to the console and sends the signal. Lyta looks up, sensing something.
EXT. SPACE - DEAD ZONE
Jump-points open nearby and Girabaldi's vessels stream out, beyond them in the near space many more jump-points open and the second wave of Alliance ships start to emerge and take up positions, including White Star 100 (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Girabaldi appears on the viewscreen.
Lennier? Okay, Lyta, show us the way

got up your sleeve!?
It's not what you think. And there's
no time to explain - CUT TO
EXT. SPACE - DEAD ZONE
A large jump-point opens and the Psi-Corps mothership emerges, with all of its fighters deployed in formation around it (CGI).
INT. GIRABALDI VESSEL
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Here they come!
A tight swarm of perhaps fifty Drakh fighters approach and attack Lyta's and Girabaldi's vessels as well as the Psi-Corps mothership, which are nearest to the Drakh fighters (CGI).
INT. GIRABALDI VESSEL
Girabaldi's vessel takes a hit.
EXT. SPACE - DEAD ZONE
Girabaldi's and Lyta's identical fighter vessels form up two dif-ferent squads, each flying in different formation, with the trans-port and support vessels of Lyta's fleet hanging back from the fight. Psi-Corps fighters also engage the Drakh fighters, and a few White Stars and other vessels from the second wave of Alliance ships, which are nearer, join in. In the distance can be seen the first wave of Alliance ships heading down what appears to be a corridor of sheer blackness, away from the action. The Psi-Corps and Alliance ships box in the Drakh vessels (CGI).
INT. WHITE STAR 100
IVANOVA'S crew closes in on a knot of Drakh fighters, on viewer (CGI/COMPOSITE).
(In Minbari / subtitles)
Take them out, full spray pattern.
White Star 100 fires the green Minbari light weapon in a multi-directional spray pattern, taking out several Drakh fighters at once (CGI).
Nice work. Can somebody get this one
off of my tail? CROSSCUT
Girabaldi's vessel is closely followed by a Drakh fighter, pursuing as each vessel tightly rolls and turns (CGI).
WHITE STAR 100
I'm on it!
Five Drakh fighters go after White Star 100.
WHITE STAR 100
No I'm not! A little busy here, Girabaldi.
WIDE SHOT as we see the full battle playing out, the first wave ships now gone, and the second wave ships helping out with a couple of Alliance ships getting hit hard, but most of the Drakh vessels being destroyed by the superior forces of the Alliance (CGI)
Lyta stands at her console, watching the viewscreen as her vessel approaches about ten Drakh fighters in formation, chasing Psi-Corps fighters. Bester nervously watches. Lyta's eyes flare white (CGI).
The ten Drakh fighters seem to wobble and slow. From above Lyta's
fighters take out the immobilized Drakh vessels. Girabaldi's vessel is still dodging fire from a lone Drakh vessel, as a huge jump-point opens and the third wave of Alliance vessels, including the Excalibur and Vorlon orb emerge, firing immediately upon Drakh vessels (CGI).
Lennier skillfully navigates the vessel to overtake a Drakh fighter and destroys it with weapons fire, as seen on viewer (CGI).
Can't shake this goddamn Drakh -
Girabaldi's vessel takes a big hit. CROSSCUT
A lifepod ejects from Girabaldi's vessel before it explodes (CGI).
WHITE STAR 100
We're closest. I've got him.
The viewer shows Lyta's vessel closing on the lifepod (CGI/COMPOSITE). CROSSCUT
WHITE STAR 100
And I've got you, you bastard!
Ivanova's viewer shows that she has the Drakh fighter in her sights. She operates weapons controls on her armrest.
White Star 100 destroys the Drakh fighter (CGI).
INT. CENTAURI FIGHTER
LONDO pilots the fighter, while the glowing G'KAR sits next to him.
They look at their viewer (CGI).
There. As we expected, defensive forces
already attacking. Can you put that
thing to work, G'Kar?
Move us closer.
The lone Centauri fighter breaks away from the third wave fleet, the Vorlon orb tightly following (CGI).
G'Kar concentrates. CROSSCUT
The Vorlon orb spins fast and many tendrils of light extend from it and destroy all the remaining Drakh craft (CGI).
You handle a fighter pretty well, Molari.
But how do you stay comfortable in these
seats? Narn seats are much more comfortable.
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Girabaldi is coming around.
GIRABALDI POV as he sees first Lyta, Lennier, Dr. Franklin, then Bester, to whom he REACTS with horror.
Hello, Mr. Girabaldi. Don't worry, I
won't harm you. There is not the time
just now, and this really isn't the place
to settle our differences, so she won't
allow you to harm me either.
SHERIDAN appears on the viewscreen.
The defensive forces were lighter here
than you predicted, Lyta.
Which means we'll face even more near
the Vorlon system. We need to follow the
first wave in, now.
Lyta's eyes flare white momentarily (CGI).
They're coming. The Shadows. We must hurry.
Michael, I'm afraid I'm going to have
to leave you there for now.
Girabaldi looks to Dr. Franklin.
EXT. SPACE - DEAD ZONE
The second wave of ships descends into the distant dark tunnel between sparse fields of stars, and the third wave Alliance vessels form up, along with the Vorlon orb to follow (CGI).
Sheridan returns to the captain's chair after looking at display consoles in the navigator station. Delenn steps over from the communications bay. Delenn holds his hand.
(to Delenn) Well, here goes. Navigator,
take us in. CUT TO
EXT. SPACE - DEAD ZONE
The Excalibur and other third wave Alliance ships follow the second wave ships (CGI).
The ship experiences turbulence, and a strange darkness.
Can you stabilize?
This region of space is unstable, sir.
Gravity in this microgalaxy is not like
it is in the rest of the Milky Way. Com-
pensating as much as we can.
The Excalibur stabilizes a bit.
I had heard that about Vorlon space. The
physical laws don't operate exactly as
they do in normal space.
If what Lyta told us is true, the Shadows
will attempt to return through an ancient
jump-gate beyond the Vorlon homeworld.
We have to destroy their ships as they
come out. It's not enough to destroy
the jump-gate. We need to keep them from
ever coming back.
The turbulence picks up a bit.
It opens up ahead, sir, just where her
The viewer shows a field of wispy light green light growing in the distant blackness (CGI/COMPOSITE).
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The third wave ships, including the Excalibur and the Vorlon orb, slow, rearranging position - as the first and second wave ships can be seen doing in the distance. Lyta's ships divide up and take positions in front of and behind each armada (CGI).
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
I'm moving my people into position. The
Minbari telepaths and any of the other races'
telepaths to focus their minds as a blade.
They need to slice through the Drakh tele-
pathic defenses. The telepath weapon the
Drakh used on Narn is a small version of
what we'll face here.
INT. CENTAURI FIGHTER
We must cut through the Drakh defensive
grids, and only we can do it Mr. President.
Lyta freezes for a moment, sensing something sad.
Delenn looks at the viewer which reveals countless Soul-Hunter vessels waiting on the periphery of the area (CGI/COMPOSITE).
(gasps) Soul-Hunters. They only come
when there is to be great death.
We have to make sure it's not on our side.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The three groups of Alliance ships approach Vorlon space from different vectors - Vorlon space being a wispy, light greenish haze, a magical oasis in the blackness. Intense white areas become visible as they approach (CGI).
I never thought I would see Vorlon
space in my lifetime. It is so beautiful.

ON DRAZI CAPTAIN as he looks upon the beauty.
MINBARI WAR CRUISER
Minbari look upon the beauty on their viewer (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Lyta senses something.
They're almost here.
Lyta appears on the Excalibur's viewer (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Attention Alliance fleet. Our telepaths
are in position. The Shadows are nearly
here. I need your answer. Will you cede
Vorlon space to us if we help you to
defeat the Shadows and the Drakh?
Bester, Girabaldi, Lennier, and Dr. Franklin nervously watch as Lyta awaits the answer she will receive mentally.
ON LYTA, satisfied.
Your choice is wise. When the Shadow vessels
come through the jump-gate, we will disrupt
the operation of their vessels. You are to
disable, but not destroy them where possible.
Repeat, disable, but do not destroy. We intend
to recover as many of the telepaths enslaved
on those vessels as possible.
Recover? There is no way to remove the Shadow
implants and save them. We've tried.
Where would you take them?
As yet you are without a home yourselves.
You will understand soon enough, as I
Lyta points to a planet emerging from the glowing green cloud, with one large moon orbiting the gas-giant planet (CGI).
We'll care for them there. CUT TO
Lyta, you're asking the impossible. We
are not in position to disable their
vessels without destroying them.
I'm merely asking you to try. We'll
do what we can. You do what you must.
What is that?
Delenn looks to a steadily-increasing magnification of the large moon around the gas giant planet, and a scaffold-like structure becomes visible around the entire moon. Further magnification
reveals it to be composed of thousands upon thousands of the spherical Drakh war drones (CGI/COMPOSITE).
This is not good.
At last you all see.
Lyta's eyes flare white as we MOVE INTO HER EYE (CGI).
Images of multitudes of collared, downtrodden, blank-looking telepath slaves, nearly all human, at work on production lines/ doing physical labor/ working on Drakh weapons and craft/ working in genetic engineering and telepath growth labs.

First the Shadows, and now the Drakh
made slaves of us! A moon, larger than the
Earth, populated with telepaths they've
created, genetically engineered, and used
as raw material, as laborers, as weapons.
Millions upon millions of our kind never
given a chance to be whole, to be free! We
will help you keep the Shadows out, and
defeat the Drakh. But you must help us
cleanse the Vorlon system of Drakh pres-
ence and then agree to stay out for all time. CROSSCUT
Lyta now appears on the viewscreen (CGI/COMPOSITE).
None of us had any idea, Lyta. Of course
we will help to free the telepaths.
GENERAL FRANKLIN sits in captain's chair, looking at his viewer.
Attention Alliance fleet. First wave

sign of Drakh defenses.
Dr. Franklin pushes a button on the console.
Son. I'm glad you're all right. CROSSCUT
GENERAL FRANKLIN (VO)

EXT. ANCIENT JUMP-GATE
Several tight clusters of the Drakh war drones emerge from the behind the jump-gate, accompanied by Drakh fighters and heavy
NEW ANGLE as the jump-point is now fully open and a long line of SHADOW VESSELS begins streaming out, firing their lavender beams, but are instantly disrupted and disoriented due to the Alliance telepaths. Several Alliance vessels, the first wave with most of the Earth ships, take hits. The Drakh forces approach (CGI).
INT. MINBARI HEAVY CRUISER
We see Minbari telepaths mentally engaging the Shadow vessels.
INT. STEALTH HEAVY CRUISER IN LYTA'S FLEET
Several telepaths in one of the larger vessels focuses their attention on the viewscreen, which shows the Shadow vessels emerging from the jump-gate (CGI/COMPOSITE). Several other telepaths look to the rear and downward.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
A cluster of Drakh wardrones heads toward the Alliance vessels
attacking the Shadow vessels coming out of the jump-gate, but their
geometric pattern is disrupted as CAMERA PANS OVER to the prev-iously seen stealth vessel in Lyta's fleet, who's weapons fire
targets only Drakh vessels, not the wardrones (CGI).
Many of the spider-like Shadow vessels are having their appendages
sliced off by the weapons fire of the Alliance vessels (CGI).
Lyta sees this, satisfied that her wishes are being followed.
Londo operates the controls and the vessel weaves and turns, for
better position, as seen on the viewer (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Is that thing of yours still with us?
They seem to be doing a good job at the
jump-gate. What do you say we go after
A splendid idea, Molari.
Londo looks at G'Kar.
Is there no way you can make that stop?
It is hurting my eyes.
G'Kar pouts at Londo's whine, then suddenly points.
There! Take us there! CUT TO
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The Centauri fighter races past the Excalibur, the Vorlon orb following, and veers downward toward the largest of the Drakh
fleets attacking (CGI).
Sheridan, Delenn, and the others watch as the Centauri fighter and the Vorlon orb pass extremely close as they make their strafing run (CGI/COMPOSITE). SHERIDAN REACTS upon seeing the Vorlon orb.
The Vorlon orb extends many tendrils of light, laying waste to the Drakh vessels within its vicinity (CGI).
VORLON SPACE / WIDE SHOT
As we take in the vast scale of many simultaneous battles going on in several different locations, with all kinds of weapons fire and ships of both sides being destroyed or damaged (CGI). ANGLE ON ANCIENT JUMP-GATE as first wave Alliance vessels as they suffer heavy losses and exact heavy losses, while the second wave Alliance vessels move in to help, being pursued by Drakh fighters and war drones as the line of traffic coming through the jump-gate gets heavier and larger Shadow vessels emerge with bigger guns - the tide looks like it could turn against the Alliance (CGI).
ANGLE ON third wave Alliance vessels as they follow the Vorlon orb G'Kar controls, and help blasting apart Drakh defenses and Shadow
Sheridan looks pensive and wound up all at once.
He said there would be three forces of
light. I only see one. If now is not
the time, then when?
Perhaps the other forces of light will
still appear. Kosh told you to invoke his
name when there are three forces of light.
President Sheridan, I've got an idea.
EXT. VORLON SPACE / NEAR MOON
The Vorlon orb moves into position behind the Excalibur, with the Centauri fighter nearby, and the Excalibur angles itself down toward the moon. The Excalibur fires up its main gun, and the Vorlon orb enhances its power, with broad swaths of white light
destroying whole sections of the Drakh defensive grid, which have been breaking off in wave after wave of attacks on the Alliance fleet (CGI).
NEW ANGLE ON JUMP-GATE, as the first wave of Alliance ships is beginning to crumble in formation from the onslaught, and the second wave is battling Drakh as much from the rear as Shadows
in front (CGI).
Lyta senses something and points for Lennier to move the vessel closer to one of her own ships visible on the viewscreen (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Lyta receives mental information.
Is there a way to link up the ships?
Sure, they couple top-to-bottom.
Lyta looks to Lennier, who understands and operates the controls.
What're you - ?
They need a pilot, their navigator is dead.
You're not getting me -
A LOUD METALLIC WHUMP SOUND is heard as Lyta's vessel marries up with the other vessel.
Lennier operates a switch on the control panel and a large circular hatch in the center of the floor pops open.
GIRABALDI POV looking down the hatch to see several telepaths as Lennier jumps down to the craft below. The hatch is quickly closed.
Why don't you make yourself useful
and fly this thing?
Girabaldi takes up the challenge and operates the control panel, the SOUND OF DE-LINKING can be heard. On the viewscreen can be seen the formerly disabled craft from Lyta's fleet zipping off (CGI/COMPOSITE).
You only gotta say it once, lady.
Lyta senses something and reaches out her hand and Bester takes it, and together the concentrate.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The Psi-Corps mothership comes barreling into view, FILLING FRAME,
then WE FOLLOW as it aggressively makes an intercept course on the huge set of Drakh war drones heading toward the Excalibur and Lyta's vessel from the Vorlon moon (CGI).
ON DRAKH WAR DRONES as they approach
ON PSI-CORPS MOTHERSHIP approaching
Sheridan, Delenn and the crew grow big-eyed as the huge assault force of Drakh war drones heads their way - on the viewer (CGI).
INT. LENNIER'S VESSEL
Lennier sees the predicament on his viewer.
We have to draw them off!
Lennier looks plaintively to the telepaths, who seem to assent - then join hands and close their eyes in concentration.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
Visible AT RIGHT is the Psi-Corps mothership, AT LEFT is the assemblage of Drakh war drones, and LOWER CENTER is the Excalibur, with Lennier's vessel arcing right in front of it to draw fire.
Lennier's vessel expends all weapons at its disposal, and a ripple in the net of approaching war drones denotes the effect of the telepaths in disrupting the drones (CGI).
NEW ANGLE as Drakh fighters alongside the war drones and some of the war drones at the outer edge of the cluster return fire upon
Lennier's vessel (CGI).
On the viewscreen can be seen Lennier's vessel in front, taking multiple hits, and the approaching Drakh war drones (CGI).
He bought us some cover, get us out of
here! Full speed!
Delenn's horrified expression tells us she knows what's coming.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The Psi-Corps mothership is now in range, and the whole vast net of Drakh war drones is disrupted (CGI).
INT. PSI-CORPS MOTHERSHIP
We see many uniformed Psi-Corps telepaths on the bridge of the vessel focusing their mental attention.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
Lennier's vessel is caught in the Drakh line of fire and is utterly destroyed (CGI).
ON DELENN, devastated at the destruction of Lennier's vessel on her viewscreen. Sheridan casts a compassionate look.
INT. LYTA'S VESSEL
Lyta, Dr. Franklin, Girabaldi, and Bester look on at the destruction of Lennier's vessel on the viewer (CGI/COMPOSITE).
INT. WHITE STAR 100
IVANOVA REACTS with horror at the loss of Lennier's vessel.
They bought us an escape. Coming about -
Use main guns, wipe out those Drakh.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
As if held suspended, the main force of Drakh war drones is under the control of the telepaths on the Psi-Corps mothership and a huge battle rages as more Alliance vessels move in for the kill, firing a variety of weapons. The Excalibur comes about and its main guns CRACKLE to life, then its huge blast cuts vast swaths through
the Drakh forces, vaporizing them (CGI).
Delenn all but covers her eyes, tormented by the loss of Lennier, and aghast at the necessity of the carnage they inflict now on the Drakh as seen in the viewscreen. Several Shadow vessels which have
leaked through now zip about in the battle (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Lyta senses that now is her time.
(to Girabaldi) Take us as fast as you
can past the Vorlon homeworld.
What? If we get too close, the automatic
Vorlon planetary defenses will shoot us
down quicker than one of these guys.
Do as I say!
Lyta's eyes flare white for an instant (CGI).
ON GIRABALDI as he operates the controls, the viewer shows their vessel to be quickly and sharply arcing away from the battle (CGI/COMPOSITE). CROSSCUT
Lyta's vessel screams toward the Vorlon gas-giant homeworld (CGI).
Lyta goes over to one of several wall-mounted lifepods, opens its door, stepping in. Dr. Franklin follows.
What are you doing!?
It's time to put a stop to this.
Bester helps strap Lyta in as Girabaldi steals a glance back.
Are you nuts!? There's a full-scale war
going on out there, and you're going
out there in a lifepod?
She knows what she's doing, Mr. Girabaldi.
EXT. SPACE / ABOVE VORLON HOMEWORLD
Lyta's vessel screams past, ejecting the lifepod (CGI).
CLOSE ON LYTA, peering out the glass of the lifepod, the reflection of the Vorlon homeworld visible in the glass (CGI/COMPOSITE).
LYTA POV as she looks back at the battles raging all around her in different locations, soul-hunter vessels gathering the dead. Lyta then turns to look at the Vorlon home-world. She concentrates, and her eyes blaze intense white (CGI).
ANGLE ON Vorlon homeworld as a LARGE GLOWING ORB, larger by ten times then G'kar's, emerges from the clouds of the planet and flies into space, past LYTA in the lifepod (CGI).
LYTA begins to glow white all over and soon her lifepod is an intense glowing ball of white light, which speeds in the direction of the larger Vorlon orb, to an area equidistant between the jump-gate and the Shadows and the Drakh base on the Vorlon moon (CGI).
INT. CENTAURI FIGHTER
G'Kar is overcome with a confused look and suddenly coughs up the glowing stone, his body fading quickly back to normal from its previous glow (CGI). On the viewer, the Vorlon orb moves away from them, Londo and G'Kar are dumbfounded (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Where is it going?
I don't know. It's as if it was ripped
away from me.
More Drakh fighters. We are without your
protection now. Can you operate Centauri
I guess I'll have to.
Londo banks the fighter into a hard turn.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
Londo's Centauri fighter is pursued by three Drakh fighters, yet his skill as a pilot keeps their shots from hitting (CGI).
Have you got him?
Bring us around, and he's mine.
Londo operates the controls, and does a difficult move.
The Centauri fighter does a Molari loop and ends up behind the pursuing Drakh craft, firing its pulse weapons and destroying first
one, then a second Drakh fighter, before moving in on the third
and tightly following its evasive maneuvers before destroying it too (CGI).
Ah-hah! (Laughs) Well done, G'Kar!
Some pretty fancy flying, Emperor.
INT. WHITE STAR 100
There is near panic on the command deck as every person works to maximum, with the viewer revealing that they are in position near the jump-gate trying to shore up the Alliance line against the Shadows. IVANOVA'S attention is drawn toward the three orbs of light moving into position (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Keep firing! Full spread!
They take a moderate hit. Ivanova looks closer at the viewer.
What the - ? CUT TO
Sheridan and Delenn step closer to the viewer, staring at the three orbs of light lining up (CGI/COMPOSITE). Delenn takes Sheridan's hand and they look into each other's eyes. Sheridan looks to the viewer again.
EX CLOSE ON SHERIDAN'S MOUTH
In rapid-fire succession, the image of Kosh in his encounter suit, and the light Kosh, trade places with Sheridan where he stands - as if he were all three at once for an instant. END INSERT
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The three orbs of light flash much brighter and a solid beam of light fills the space between them and out of each end of the outer orbs extends a beam of blistering white light, one of which penet-rates the jump-gate, obliterating any and all Shadow vessels in its path, and out of the opposite orb many tendrils extend to destroy Drakh and Shadow vessels and the grid of war drones surrounding the moon (CGI).
Intense white light spills in, with everyone shielding their eyes.
WHITE STAR 100
Ivanova and crew shield their eyes.
Girabaldi, Dr. Franklin and Bester shield their eyes.
General Franklin and crew shield their eyes.
The light dies down and all unshield their eyes and look.
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The fighting has stopped, all is eerily quiet, as the surviving Alliance vessels regroup, with debris from damaged and destroyed
Alliance, Shadow, and Drakh craft drifting all over - soul-hunters
doing their work. The ancient jump-gate looks as though it has been burned from the intense light. Some Alliance vessels begin to move, administering to the task at hand - the wounded and the dead (CGI).
EXT. VORLON SPACE
Jump-points in the periphery reveal many of the Alliance vessels leaving. One main cluster of ships remains in the foreground above
the Vorlon gas-giant and moon, consisting of mostly Minbari and Earth ships, along with the Centauri fighter and G'Kar's glowing Vorlon orb (much smaller than before). Lyta's ships are in a line descending to the moon, with the massive Psi-Corps mothership in orbit overhead. Departing from the Excalibur are White Star 100 and Lyta's vessel, heading toward the moon (CGI).
EXT. VORLON MOON
On a high mesa above the rocky gun-metal gray moon, grid-marked
with civilization, descend from the atmosphere Lyta's vessel and White Star 100 to land in the plain below. Many of the vessels from Lyta's fleet can be seen on the surface in the BG (CGI).
EXT. LYTA'S VESSEL
We MOVE CLOSE on the front windows of the vessel to see GIRABALDI
piloting, with DR. FRANKLIN standing alongside as the vessel DROPS OUT OF FRAME (CGI/COMPOSITE).
INT. WHITE STAR 100
SHERIDAN, DELENN, G'KAR, and LONDO stand beside IVANOVA, looking out the forward windows as they descend behind Lyta's vessel. (CGI/COMPOSITE).
EXT. VORLON MOON / PLAIN
White Star 100 lands, as the others disembark from Lyta's vessel in a clearing with green vegetation surrounded by plain, sterile buildings. The atmosphere is slightly gaseous and tinted light green, with an eerie glow from the gas-giant planet nearby. Crackles of lightning are visible in the higher atmosphere (CGI/COMPOSITE).
EXT. VORLON MOON / PLAIN
We join SHERIDAN, DELENN, GIRABALDI, IVANOVA, G'KAR, LONDO, DR. FRANKLIN as they approach the burned-looking lifepod Lyta had used as it lays nestled in a misty field of moss-like plants. The life-pod is empty, and the mood is somber. BESTER stands next to the lifepod, and other telepaths can be seen nearby.
NEW ANGLE as LYTA steps out of the mist in the BG, her eyes dimly glowing white, so her irises and pupils can still be seen (CGI). She walks toward the group.
Thank you for your help. Telepaths have
a chance to live freely now. The Shadows
are defeated for the last time, and the
Drakh are now without the resources to cause
serious trouble for some time to come.
Lyta looks to Dr. Franklin and sends him a telepathic message.
ON DR. FRANKLIN as message received.
ON LYTA as her VOICE CHANGES to that of KOSH, eyes again flaring bright white (CGI).
LYTA / KOSH (VO)
You now have the chance to create peace
in the galaxy. We have done all that we
can to help you in this time.
Intense lightning flashes from the nearby gas-giant planet's atmosphere draws all of their attention.
NEW ANGLE as we see the immense nearby gas-giant planet fill much of the sky, with flashes of light arcing back and forth within its
pale green, gently swirling atmosphere (CGI).
ON SHERIDAN as Lyta approaches him, her eyes glowing with greater intensity (CGI).
LYTA / KOSH (VO)
It is time for all who are Kosh to return
to the crucible of our beginnings, so that
life for us may start anew.
Lyta raises up her arms, and Sheridan seems gripped in a trance, then a gossamer-like figure of white light emerges from Sheridan's body and floats in the air as Lyta begins to glow white and float in the air, while merging with the figure which came from Sheridan until Lyta disappears and only a figure of light, the true Vorlon, can be seen (CGI).
G'KAR POV as he sees Narn features on what he sees as his supreme being.
DR. FRANKLIN POV as he sees human features on the light figure.
DELENN POV as she sees Minbari features.
ON DELENN as she stares reverentially.
IVANOVA POV, as she quietly says a prayer, while looking upon the true Vorlon, which she sees with human features.
GIRABALDI notices that a great many telepaths have streamed to their location and look upon what was once Lyta, and is now this
floating creature of light (CGI).
GIRABALDI POV on the Vorlon as he seems hardly able to look upon it, and keeps averting his gaze, skeptical to the last.
BESTER POV as he lifts his head to follow the Vorlon's slow ascent.
ON BESTER as he closes his eyes as if to see with his mind, then opens his eyes again, seeming at peace.
LONDO POV as he sees the Vorlon with Centauri features, including a head crest.
ON LONDO as tears stream from his eyes, truly enraptured by what he is seeing, a real spiritual epiphany for him. He falls to one knee, his mouth agape.
NEW ANGLE as the Vorlon rises high above them, radiating light in a sphere around itself, then instantly turns into a zig-zagging
crackle of lightning and conveys itself into the atmosphere of the
gas-giant planet overhead, with several cascading waves of light-ning circling the planet in response before dying down (CGI).
Having wanted to since Lyta's telepathic message, but enraptured by what he had seen, Dr. Franklin now runs as fast as he can toward a cluster of buildings.
ON LONDO who is crying, G'Kar helps him up.
Let me help you to your feet, Molari.
The Great Maker. I have seen his face
with my own eyes, G'Kar.
We all saw it, Molari. This time you
What do you mean this time!?
G'Kar looks to Delenn and Sheridan.
Once on Babylon Five the Vorlon revealed
himself, Sheridan and Delenn saw it. I
saw it. You were there too.
Yes, I was there, and I saw nothing.
Perhaps, until today, you were not
ready to see.
The telepaths which had gathered head away from the field, with the able telepaths attending to the genetically limited and Shadow-implanted telepaths.
ON GIRABALDI as there is a tense moment between he and Bester.
Sheridan steps over.
What are your plans now, Bester?
I spent my whole life believing that Psi-
Corps was the only home I would ever know.
Psi-Corps is mother, Psi-Corps is father,
I was taught, and I taught others. I really
believed with all my heart that our way was
best, that Psi-Corps' structured behaviors
and environments were the best life for
human telepaths. I see now that I was wrong.
You could say I've seen the light.
(smiles at Girabaldi). Have you seen the
light, Mr. Girabaldi? The blocks I placed on
you to keep you from harming me are gone for
good. Lyta kept her word to you. If you wish to
have your revenge upon me, I can't stop you. I
just wish you could understand that I used you
against your will while you were chief of
security on Babylon Five because you were in a
unique position to uncover a plot to commit
genocide against all telepaths. The late Mr.
William Edgars, who's industries you now run
with your wife, meant to kill us all - all
telepaths - with his virus. Would you have done
any less to save your people?
Girabaldi pensively ponders this as Bester removes his black Psi-Corps gloves and drops them.
I'm afraid I cannot undo the sense of
violation you feel for what I did inside
your mind - what I made you do. I am going
to remain here and help out, learn what it
is like to live among only my own kind, what
freedom really is. The best I can do is offer
you my apology, and hope that in the spirit of
the moment you will accept it.
Bester reaches out his ungloved hand. Girabaldi agonizes, but reluctantly shakes Bester's hand.
Good then. If we should meet at some future
date, I hope it is under much better circumstances
than it has been in the past.
Girabaldi grumbles an affirmative nod.
Mr. President, let me pledge to you my full
cooperation in making those members of Psi-
Corps back on Earth come to understand new
developments. It may mean at some point I'll
have to travel back to Earth.
What exactly will you tell them?
Among telepaths understanding comes very
quickly, and often on many different levels simultaneously. We think faster, and in a
more complex way than mun-, er, normals do.
Let me put it this way, they will see what
we have seen, and come to know what we now
know. The Psi-Corps will essentially cease
to exist after that. We have found a more
profound truth, and it will forever change
how we live our lives. So long as it does not
threaten telepaths, I will give you and the
Alliance my cooperation in future endeavors.
Well, Mr. Bester, I do hope this is a new
beginning. I cannot forget past wrongs, but
will do my part so long as you do yours.
One more thing, Mr. President. I respectfully
request that my lover, still frozen in a cryo-
genic tube on Babylon Five, be released to my
custody so that I can bring her here. If what
the Shadows did to her can be undone, it can be
Fair enough. I'll arrange it with Captain
Lochley. After your help today, it seems the
least we can do.
Bester walks off to join other telepaths in the BG. In the near distance G'Kar and Londo are talking to each other.
EXT. VORLON MOON / MEADOW
ANGLE ON DELENN, wistful. Sheridan takes her hand.
Thinking of Lennier?
Yes. I wish he could have seen.
Ivanova walks over.
The Damocles has departed. General Franklin
seemed pretty excited to see Stephen. They're
taking the antidote directly to Earth on one
of the Minbari heavy cruisers.
That is good. The Minbari ship has more
advanced medical facilities and should be
able to process the data and begin creation
of an actual antidote much more quickly.
There is hope for Earth.
The remainder of the fleet wants to start
moving out, leaving just the Excalibur and
White Star 100. And that -
They look up to the massive Psi-Corps mothership overhead (CGI).
But, I guess they're staying. Can I
give the okay?
Sheridan nods yes, then he and Delenn walk arm in arm in the field, away from the others.
The Shadows destroyed. The Drakh beaten.
The Vorlons gone now from our time, maybe
never to return. The telepath war we all
thought inevitable, averted. We have now
the chance to build a lasting peace in the
Sheridan and Delenn embrace, standing in silhouette against the glow of the green gas-giant Vorlon homeworld filling the moon's sky (CGI/COMPOSITE).
CLOSE ON SHERIDAN and DELENN as they REACT to a SOUND of a descending alien vessel.
ANGLE ON DAOLON VESSEL as it descends for landing (CGI).
EXT. VORLON MOON
ON DAOLON VESSEL as a doorway forms in its smooth exterior, which opens to reveal first one, then two more Daolons descending a ramp,
the Daolons looking very similar to the Vorlons (in their encounter suits) (CGI).
Sheridan, Delenn, Girabaldi, Ivanova, Bester, and a few telepaths
crowd around to see. The FIRST DAOLON speaks, his body more greenish and fleshy than the Vorlon encounter suits, and the
stature a bit shorter. His mouth is a light as with the Vorlon
encounter suit, but a different color and more organic-looking.
In the near distance, a storm is rolling in, with flashes of lightning visible (CGI).
We are Daolon. We come to you in peace.
We are -
We know who you are. We have watched as
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
you and our brethren the Vorlons made war
with the Shadows, the Drakh, and the Sleetoks.
Delenn looks to Sheridan, they REACT.
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
We live on the eighth planet. We are a
people of peace, and do not make war. We
will allow the telepaths to stay here on
this moon of the Vorlon home-world. It was
their wish. The Vorlons created telepaths,
and felt kinship with them.
A flash of lightning from the storm CRACKLES nearby, with the lightning almost appearing for an instant as a living being, which
many in the crowd notice (CGI).
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
We are the protectors of Vorlon space
and its worlds. No others are to return
to this place when you go, without our
permission. To that end, it has been de-
cided that we must establish diplomatic
relations with the Alliance. Thus, I shall
join you on the return journey.
What should we call you?
You may call me Kosh.
Just then a lightning flash CRACKLES, making the distinctive SOUND all recognize as sounding like "KOSH" - with a bit of a trailing HISS at its end. Again a figure of a living being can be clearly seen in the lightning (CGI).
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
All of this is alive (motions above
and about him). We have taken physical
form. You can see the form life takes
on this moon -
A slightly more distant CRACKLE/"KOSH" set of lightning strikes reveals several light creatures (CGI).
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
The Vorlons evolved the most, beings
of pure energy and light.
The FIRST DAOLON steps away from the ramp, and his two companions return to their vessel.
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
The jump-gate which allowed the Shadows
to return from beyond the Rim will be
FIRST DAOLON (CONTINUED)
destroyed. Those beyond the Rim shall remain
there - except for the First One.
The First Daolon casts a wry glance to Sheridan.
EXT. VORLON MOON
The Daolon vessel departs, and moments later White Star 100 lifts off and heads in the other direction (CGI).
INT. WHITE STAR 100
Ivanova sits in the captain's chair, while Girabaldi, Londo, G'Kar watch the viewscreen. The ancient jump-gate can be seen to activate, with a bunch of vessels streaming out (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Some damage is being repaired as Sheridan operates his control panel on the armrest, Delenn at his side, and the quiet First Daolon standing nearby. Also visible on their viewscreen is the ancient jump-gate with the vessels streaming out of it (CGI/COMPOSITE).
Who do those vessels belong to?
The technomages return from their hiding
place beyond the Rim.
SHERIDAN and DELENN REACT.
Captain Ivanova, we'll follow you out.
WHITE STAR 100
On the viewscreen can be seen a line of the technomage vessels careening past the Vorlon system and out the tunnel-like entrance to Vorlon space (CGI).
Roger, that. White Star 100 en route to
Babylon Five. I guess we'll follow them out.
See you there, Mr. President.
Visible on the viewscreen, the two vessels have come about, White Star 100 up ahead, and they engage thrusters (CGI/COMPOSITE).
EXT. VORLON SPACE
The Excalibur follows White Star 100 into the tunnel-like dark region of space which is the entrance/exit to Vorlon space (CGI).
EXT. CENTAURI PRIME
We see the palace, the courtyard, and people running - Narn and Centauri chasing, and hear SCREAMS, witnessing one Centauri dressed in the finery of state being cut down with knives on the palace steps as we MOVE IN
INT. CENTAURI PALACE
MOVING - In the halls people are running, there is noise in the darkness, fleeting images of assassination. A Drakh is pulled from a hiding place and stabbed to death. SCREAMS and SHRIEKS punctuate the activity as we MOVE to the throne room, where VIR stands with
the CENTAURI PALACE OFFICIAL.
ON VIR as he shuts his eyes and flinches at each scream and sound of violence. The older Centauri stares into VIR'S eyes with a purposeful, penetrating gaze.
CENTAURI PALACE OFFICIAL
It had to be done. Centauri Prime must be
ruled by Centauri.
ON VIR, clenching his jaw, as he nods yes.
EXT. BABYLON 5
A BEAUTY SHOT as we PUSH IN on the station, with just a couple of warships for defense, and heavy commercial traffic. A Centauri fleet, less impressive than the Imperial fleet, is parked in formation near the station. The glowing Vorlon orb, much smaller than before, is next to it (CGI).
INT. VIR'S QUARTERS
LONDO is dressed in his Imperial finery, holding VIR, dressed in his Ambassadorial best, by the arms.
You look tired from all the travel. It
had to be done, Vir.
Vir is reluctantly nodding yes.
But the screams, Londo. I hear their screams.
The screams of the evil and the traitorous.
If, as it has been foretold, you are to follow
me as emperor, I wish upon you that you never
have to hear the screams of the innocent -
as I do.
Introspective for a moment, Londo then brightens and pats Vir on his arms.
Come, let us go. We must say our farewells.
There is much work to do on Centauri Prime -
and part of that is my elevating you in rank
before I can let you return here to play
diplomat on Babylon Five!
But I just returned from Centauri Prime.
Why couldn't I have stayed there and avoided
all this travel?
Because it looks a lot more impressive to
arrive in the company of the emperor! I don't
want to keep G'Kar waiting. We're giving him a
lift to Narn. Now get your things.
They move to exit. CUT TO
The Earth gently rotates, with two Minbari heavy cruisers radiating a wide-band spray of light over the surface (CGI).
INT. LOCHLEY'S OFFICE
SHERIDAN stands at the BabCom unit, talking to the image of DR. FRANKLIN. Also present are DELENN, IVANOVA, LOCHLEY, GIRABALDI,
We figure a year's worth of applications
will penetrate every lifeform on Earth,
and completely undo the damage caused
by the Drakh plague. There's even promising
first results on the cloning of Magnolia
trees and weaver spiders.
Ugh. Do you have to bring back the spiders?
I hate spiders. I'm planning a trip to Earth
next year, and with my luck one of those will
be under my bed.
Well, I'm glad to hear it is going so well,
Stephen. The Minbari help with the antidote
and their contribution of resources in the
spraying is doing a lot to heal the old wounds
of division among our peoples. I'm very happy
Sheridan and Delenn hold hands and smile at one another.
Well, things are pretty busy around here.
I should be getting back to work. Oh, and hey,
I don't know when I'll be getting back to Babylon
DR. FRANKLIN (CONTINUED)
Five, Captain Lochley. If you could get one of
the medlabs to get tissue and genetic samples
from the Daolon ambassador, I'd love to add it
to my database here at the zenobiology lab.
I'll put someone on it.
One last thing, Mr. President. My father
is retiring from Earthforce. He already came
down here, and sends his regards.
Please wish him my best.
The BabCom screen goes dark as they sign-off. Lochley's comlink BREEPS, she answers it.
LT. CORWIN (VO)
I think you should come down here, Captain.
The Brukuri and the Drazi are accusing each
other of jumping the line for the docking
bays, and with the backlog, it's getting
pretty ugly out there. And there are freelance
shippers coming through the jump-gate which
aren't even listed on the logs.
On my way.
Lochley toggles off.
Seems like old times.
We may be able to manage peace in the galaxy,
but the day we manage it around this place,
I'll know I'm ready for the retirement home.
Everybody shares a laugh as Lochley departs.
Zack, you haven't said a word since we
Delenn goes over to Zack.
Lyta had a destiny to fulfill, Zack. We are
probably all alive today because of her.
Zack starts to speak, but can't. He chokes off a whimper, Delenn hugs him and comforts him as tears stream down his face. Girabaldi and Sheridan look to one another, realizing. Delenn wipes Zack's tears, and he collects himself.
To love someone with your whole heart
is the greatest gift one can give. I'm
sure she understood that.
Zack nods yes, collects himself, and departs.
I had no idea.
That makes two of us.
A woman knows these things.
Never love a telepath. They should come
with warning labels.
Well, we shouldn't keep the good Emperor
from Centauri Prime waiting.
Delenn motions for them to leave. The BabCom unit SOUNDS.
Call coming through for Mr. Girabaldi
We'll meet you down there.
Sheridan and Delenn exit, Girabaldi engages the viewer, and his wife, LISA GIRABALDI appears.
Boy, are you a sight for sore eyes.
I take it you haven't seen the news. You
haven't. You need to get back here as soon
as possible. The news of the war in Vorlon
space has rocked the markets, and our stock -
Has tumbled. Of course, with so much of our
expenditures lately in military hardware -
and now no war to fight! Save the galaxy
but lose your shirt! Whatever happened to
the spoils of war?
Hurry back. I miss you.
I miss you too.
Love you too.
INT. CENTRAL DOCKING BAY
GIRABALDI arrives just behind SHERIDAN and DELENN, as a formal regiment of uniformed Centauri line either side of the walkway. LONDO, VIR, and G'KAR enter.
Safe journey back to Centauri Prime,
Emperor. I trust things are in order for
Things are better. Upon my return I intend
to complete whatever unfinished business
remains. (cheerfully) I have a sneaking
suspicion that helpful clues are waiting for
me there. And Vir is going to be elevated
in position. He shall help me with my duties
at the Palace. But, I have agreed to honor
his request for him to keep his ambassadorial
post on Babylon Five, for now.
Delenn hugs G'Kar.
Delenn. How different the universe seems
from just a few days ago.
As I told you, you have a destiny. And I
suspect it is not yet fulfilled.
There is much left to do on my world. I
hope the Vorlon orb has enough power left
to help us in our rebuilding.
G'KAR pulls out the glowing Vorlon stone.
One last journey for it now.
Best of luck to you Emperor.
Thank you Mr. Girabaldi. When we get things
cleaned up, you'll have to honor the palace
with a visit. Bring your wife. Or better yet,
don't (winks). Come now, Vir, G'Kar.
Delenn gives Londo a hug, and a kiss on the cheek.
There was a time once when I thought I
would never be able to do that again,
or want to.
You have learned to follow the path of your
heart - hearts. Stay on the path.
I will try, Delenn.
Londo turns to go, Vir leading G'Kar onto the Centauri shuttle in the BG. Londo turns back.
Well, it's time to go. I have to find a
seat for a soon-to-be-glowing Narn. Oh, I
almost forgot. President Sheridan, I once
gave you and Delenn a present - or rather it
was strongly suggested that I give it to you.
A ceremonial urn you may recall. I suggest
you dispose of it at once. Incineration
is probably best. Farewell.
SHERIDAN and DELENN REACT, as Londo turns and boards his shuttle.
EXT. BABYLON FIVE
The Centauri fleet blasts away and into the opening jump-gate as the smaller Vorlon orb follows (CGI).
LOCHLEY and TESSA look out the main windows in the nearly empty C&C, the end of the day at hand. TESSA reads from a log.
You're up late.
I kind of figured you'd still be here.
We finally got all that backed up traffic
through here. I nearly had the dockworkers
walk off the job it was getting so bad.
What have you got?
I just wanted to give you the run-down.
It's kind of strange to have all the
telepath rogues gone. I'd almost gotten
used to them being here. Peaceful, kept
Maybe they've got a chance to start a
better life now. As a free people.
No more Bester and Psi-Corps to chase
(reading) Mr. Girabaldi has arrived safely
back on Mars, Captain Ivanova has left for
the Drazi homeworld -
My agents are reporting the Drakh presence
there is harder to root out than on Centauri
Prime, so she volunteered to join the Rangers
in finding the cels that remain. G'Kar
returned to a hero's welcome on Narn, where
they've restored full power to their southern
hemisphere. Londo and Vir are back on Centauri
Prime, and they're making excellent progress
in finding the Drakh presence there. President
Sheridan and Delenn are spending the night
here, with their return to Minbar scheduled
for oh-nine-hundred tomorrow morning.
I'd better get some sleep then. With the
Shadows gone, and the Drakh in retreat, at
least I can count on one night without
monsters under the bed. Good night.
Good night, Captain.
Lochley departs, with Tessa reviewing a console briefly, then she departs.
INT. DIPLOMATIC GUEST QUARTERS
OVERHEAD SHOT looking down upon SHERIDAN and DELENN in bed together, Delenn's arm draped across Sheridan's chest.
Are you going to be able to sleep?
Yes. My mind has just been reviewing the
events of the past few days. So much has
happened, and all of it so fast. The poli-
tical dynamic among the Alliance members
and outside worlds is going to be much changed.
If we move quickly, we can expand the Alliance
with perhaps ten more races which had been
sitting on the fence about joining.
We can talk about it tomorrow, on the way
back to Minbar.
Delenn kisses Sheridan.
Sheridan lays flat from his half-sitting position and waves his hand over the small light on the nightstand and the light goes out. They curl up together and go to sleep.
TESSA emerges from C&C, and heads down the empty corridor, then disappears down a junction. In the FOREGROUND a wiggly movement denotes the presence of an alien figure, which seems to widen and fill out, as if having been compressed into another dimension. Thin and sinister, the SLEETOK looks around and stealthily slinks down the corridor (CGI).
EXT. VORLON MOON
BESTER is walking in the field. He is looking up at the beauty of the Vorlon homeworld.
BESTER POV as he watches lightning flashes in the atmosphere.
ON BESTER as he senses something. He turns and we see a young boy, perhaps three years old emerging from the mist near the ground, with eyes that gently glow white (CGI).
Hello. And who are you?
I am the Guardian. I will protect this
place, and our kind.
Bester looks over the child, physically human but very alien, especially the eyes. The child grows before his eyes, morphing
into a four-year-old than a five-year-old (CGI).
I see you have your mother's eyes.
Bester takes the child by the hand and they look up to the gas-giant world above them.
